Indeed. Momoko is still hugely popular as a talent (only God knows why, but it is what it is), so would she give up that money and fame to work as a teacher? For that matter, does she actually want to work as a teacher, or did she get the degree just for the sake of getting a degree? Even after you take the real Momoko out of the Momochi character, she doesn't quite have the temperament to work with young children. (Besides, if I remember correctly, Konno's degree is in environmental policy and administration, and look at what she's doing with it.)
Alternatively, would Momoko graduate from Berryz but stay with Up-Front to continue working as a talent? Why would Up-Front agree to that? At this point, Berryz without Momoko might fall completely into obscurity; they're already fighting to hold third place in H!P. Up-Front would be foolish to allow such instability in a veteran group. It would be better either to put them on hiatus or to disband them outright, to eliminate the uncertainty and reallocate the resources to promoting the hot groups and forming new groups. But right now, the rising tide is lifting all boats. It's not time yet, not unless the members themselves decide it is.
Besides, why would Momoko even need to graduate from Berryz? She's already demonstrated that she can handle the load of Berryz
and school
and talent appearances. She's on television almost every day, even though we don't post most of it here. So if she's done with school, that frees up time that can be spent on either part-time teaching or more talent appearances, whichever she wants.
Finally, the Budōkan is where you have graduations, not where you announce them. A surprise disbanding, for the reasons given above, would be an interesting twist. Maybe. Their first
and last solo concert at the Budōkan, yadda yadda yadda. But they've already announced a spring tour…
