I never liked Miki. Maybe one of my least favorite MM members ever.

Probably because she was a soloist and was randomly added to 6 gen only to overshadow not just them but all of Morning Musume. It would be like if Mano Erina was randomly added to Morning Musume along with 9th or 10th gen. Miki always had the air of a soloist too. As if Morning Musume was just her back up dancers. She looked more comfortable when she did GAM with Ayaya. But meh what do I know.

A lot of people feel that way about her. I go back and forth over how much I liked her in Morning Musume but in general I think she was okay. She had a nice strong voice that I could always hear and I liked that. Although I agree she really shines as a soloist and with GAM.

I like to pretend that Tsunku believes he chose her as a member of the 4th gen and treats her as such lol.

There's also something kind of weird about adding a soloist to a group of 15 people (that was how big the group became when 6th gen just joined). Usually these girls graduate from MM to become a soloist, part of a smaller group where they get a bigger role, or something where they're more independent. Miki did a tour on her own and performed on Kouhaku as a soloist before she was put into MM. The whole seniority deal just became confusing for everyone involved.

I liked Miki's voice in MM, and I liked her terrible, rotten, and very entertaining attitude when she was in the group. Anything beyond that is just too complicated for me.

Miki is one of my favorites. She added a great voice to the group (I would prefer any song with Miki's voice in it), and I loved her attitude. She didn't overshadow 6th gen.. MM's structure at that point overshadowed them. None of them were suitable for the lead structure Tsunku had in mind (Ai/Rika/Miki).
