Sakichi and Yuukarin were just much more appealing, cute, talented, etc. Their shoes are just too big to fill (Specially Yuuka, since she was immensely popular and her looks were just perfect.)

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahah no. They were talented sure, but seriously? People only thought Yuuka was pretty because of her pale skin. Or, well, that's one reason.

I really didn't care about Saki and Yuuka. I didn't give any sort of a fuck about old S/mileage. But this one? This lineup is awesome, and I think that people who dislike it are the typical H!P fans who don't like change.

Oh, and people need to get over these two girls graduating. Thanks.

YES, I'm being the most serious I've been in a while.

The fact that you didn't like them both, doesn't mean other people didn't give a fuck... actually many girls inside H!P said that Yuuka was incredibly cute, I'm sure you're aware of that.
Also, Yuuka was by far the most popular s/mileage member and also the most popular egg before that. Her leaving was a big loss, I'm sure most fans in Japan would agree. She was always center for a reason (and she was being pushed from the beginning, High King, Shugo Chara, etc.)

Sakichi wasn't as popular, but she was acknowledged as the best voice in the group, had a great smile, was always laughing and she wasn't hated as the "newcomer" (like Kanna for instance).

Tsunku said that S/mileage lacked "rivalry", so that was the reason the auditions took place, but the remedy became worse than the disease, the chemistry was lost, 2 important members left, and the new girls just can't adapt and are still playing catch up.

On the micro-cosmos that is my city's H!P (idol) fandom, almost everybody I know has lost interest in S/mileage since both girls have departed. It's only a small sample ofc, but I bet that's the case on Japan, that'd explain the reduced concerts, TV appearances, lives, etc. It's not the same as before.

Oh, and I LOVE change, the current Morning Musume is the BEST one imho, and I'm a fan since 2001, I was around when the golden generation was at its top and this one is far superior for me.

And I think S/mileage needs a CHANGE, new auditions for instance, and maybe some demotions...

More inexperienced noobs? I disagree. S/mileage needs good songs and promotion. And most importantly, I'd Falcon Punch Tsunku if Kana is ever demoted. I swear I would

^^Actually, the auditions took place because Saki left (or wanted to leave). And then Yuuka left, so it's a good thing they did have the auditions then.

I'm just sick of people constantly hating on new S/mileage and whining about how the old one was so much better. Yuuka and Saki aren't going to come back, and people need to accept that. I'm not talking about you specifically, Parhelion, I mean people in general. I'm not saying they have to like the new S/mileage or anything but it gets really annoying after a while.

If that makes sense.

I hope I don't come off as "whining" but i think it's very valid to feel like after the auditions and graduations that the feel of s/mileage has changed. S/mileage pre-tachiagirl was my second favorite group after Morning Musume and now it's second to last with the only artist I dislike more being Erina Mano. I did like Please Miniskirt Postwoman though. I'm not going to wish for 4nin s/mileage back because that is very unrealistic, but I still feel its ok to express the opinion that this new lineup doesn't interest me like 4nin did.

I think part of the issue is they always put Kanon and Ayaka on shows without the other girls and it makes me feel even more like the group is still just original members plus submemebers and not one whole group. It feels very disjointed. I also feel a hard time connecting to the new members and I think others feel that way as well. Not everyone, but some people.

Spoiler: show
She has good dance and singing, really, she has personality.
But she's too noisy backstage. Also she focuses too much on herself during dances sometimes. She needs to work more with S/mileage as a member of the group and adapt to them. She feels that if she keeps doing that she will make S/mileage look like they're not a united group and then they'd become scattered because of her.
And she needs to make up her mind about her bangs.

Rina

Spoiler: show
She should get some more muscles - that way become more sharp, especially in dancing.
She also has to become a bit more hyped up - and in order to do that, should come up with a short joke.

Honestly, I lose track of who's always complaining  .

Of course, you can dislike current S/mileage. That's not what I'm saying. It's just when people constantly attack the current lineup and don't even give them a chance that it annoys me.

Yeah, for me personally, when I lose interest in something, I just spook from the scene and quietly leave the discussion. Kinda what happened after Eri left MM。, but I didn't say anything ー I just concentrated on other things in my life. XD There's no point in whining about it, but at the same time, agreeing with Jessi, it is perfectly okay to express a distaste in something. It doesn't necessarily equal to whining. :hehe:

4nin were flawless. They were perfect as an idol group and were destined to surpass Morning Musume, or so it was believed by many of their fans at the time.
Saki's graduation was influenced by her own personal motive. Evidence for this was her absence in blogging and a sudden change in attitude early 2011, around the time she asked her manager if she could graduate and the same time around their debut anniversary and new member auditions announcement.
What had made many people so unaccepting of these auditions was the fact that the fans were uninformed about Saki's dissatisfaction and upcoming graduation.
After they had announced it, it was only a week after the new girls were shown and she would graduate a few days after.

S/mileage, as a group has suffered many shake ups from being the perfect idol group of 4-nin, to its current state.

S/mileage then also had the sudden graduation of Maeda Yuuka, the ace of the group. By this time the group had been renewed and was working better than ever as shown in Please Miniskirt Postwoman. But again, after her graduation the group suffered a great loss with their appeal that again changed the line-up.

Whats different about Morning Musume and S/mileage is that Morning Musume is a group that works off a changing line-up that is accepted and acknowledged by long-term and casual fans, however S/mileage was a group that was a stable group turned shaky who were forced to have auditions to prevent prematurely disbanding that would look bad on Hello Project.
