First dental visit in 9 years* resulted in only one cavity! And an old filling that needs replacing at my next visit.
*The dental insurance I had in Florida was so worthless, it was basically non-existent. Nobody had even heard of it!

I haven't been to the dentist since 2013. It's just one of those things that I never get to scheduling (like getting another Covid booster -- I've been exposed to Covid so many times in the past few months because of school and still haven't gotten it anyway).

With regards to dentists, two things…
First, they're pushing deep cleaning more than ever before, to remove tartar/plaque buildup below the gum line. It's becoming the new standard, replacing a simple cleaning above the gum line, and yes, it takes longer and costs more. So it might seem like a hustle, except that…
Second, with the latest tools like topical anesthetic gel and an ultrasonic water pick, deep cleaning isn't a big deal anymore. It takes about an hour per quadrant, and you can fully recover in less than a day without any additional pain killers. Many of the things you see online about "scaling and root planing (SRP)" are outdated. If your dentist doesn't have the latest tools and wants to do it the old fashioned way — with a shot of novocaine and a metal pick — then you need to find another dentist.
After a deep cleaning, receding gums can grow back very quickly. From crewnecks to turtlenecks within a few weeks. It's really quite amazing, if you've been living with gingivitis/periodontitis for a while.

There seems to be some kind of wonkiness going on with the site right now. I'm not doing anything on my end so I assume the web host is having minor issues as they have been known to do from time to time. So you may experience a bit of slowness and/or problems authenticating the site. If so, you may find that
http://www.jplop.com works a bit better than plain
jplop.com, and the old
https://forum.jpopmusic.info or morningmusu.me work even better. Hopefully this is just a transitory issue and by the time you've read this post, it's already resolved.

I use
https://www.jplop.com/ and always have. (Note, https instead of http.) I have no problems accessing the site itself, but sometimes the PHP engine chokes on the tags for embedded media.

Both JPLOP urls are sluggish for me. Also when I click a page number, it goes to the page but then re-directs back to the home page and then to the page.
Edit : back to normal

Okay, whatever it is, I'm seeing it now as well.
I don't think it's the PHP engine; that would cause issues with page rendering, issues that we've seen before.
This looks more like an issue with loading assets (banners, buttons, icons, smileys), from wherever those assets are stored. And all of the asset URLs point to the site root (./), which depends on the domain each visitor uses, which suggests this is an issue with domain aliasing and resolution.
EDIT: And now it's working normally again, less than an hour later. Whatever it is, it's intermittent. If this site is still on shared hosting, ask the sysadmin to check for unusual activity from the other sites. Otherwise, it's probably something upstream from this site.
EDIT: Aaaaand it's broken again. Whatever it is, it's intermittent, which is the worst — difficult to diagnose, and probably out of your control anyhow.

Yeah, I'm getting flashbacks to dial-up internet days, that's how slow the site is right now.
