Yesterday, Iikubo Haruna revealed on Youngtown radio that her mother couldn't enter a Morning Musume concert venue because the tips of her hair were dyed blue, the same color as Harunan's pet parakeet. Her mother's hair was too conspicuous. Haruna told Uemura (guest) to be careful.

Maybe it's worded wrong? Perhaps they mean, backstage in the venue? If my daughter (oh god I feel old) were a member of Morning Musume and I went backstage to visit her and I looked like like a member of a rock group, they'd probably be suspicious of me too.

Now let's remember that this is Japan and outside of showbiz and people aiming to be there it's not that common that people dye their hair in various bright colors. Especially not if they're in theirs 40-50s.
Not to mention Haruna lives at home. If crazy fans would figure out who her mom is - which dyed hair would help with - they could easily start stalking her. It's for safety, nothing else. It is a bit extreme, but so are some of the fans and we'd all rather be safe than sorry.
