I don't even see why people make such a huge deal about hair, it's their hair not yours.

If they want to have short hair, let them. It doesn't change who they are as a person. Having short hair as a performer is sometimes even better imo, since when you dance, you don't have to worry about getting smacked in the face by your own hair.

But in reality, it always annoys me seeing people complaining about someone cutting their hair shorter.

I think fans are entitled to be upset by whatever way an idol changes their image. They're a fan of an idol because of whatever way they appeal to them, and appearance is usually a major factor. If the change is a drastic change to how they look like, and the image they present, it could be a reason to not want to buy their next round of merch. I think its reasonable in that sense since its the fans that are the ones buying and supporting the idols, but oshihening is a bit extreme. But when the girls change the image they're well aware of this risk, and at the end of the day you may lose but also gain fans with a new look.

@Moh I don't want anyone to ever shave their hair. Its one of the silliest things a girl can do to herself since its such a pain to grow back. The struggle is not worth it.

I mean let me clarify. I still love Karin so by saying switching from Karin to Tomoko essentially just switches their rankings from 1. Karin 2. Tomoko to 1. Tomoko 2.Karin. Karin still is #2 and on my list of top of all H!P. My love for them is pretty much equal so the hair thing is just a minor thing that makes a difference only because I like them both so much.

Also I don't even buy merch. Not for any member of H!P. I don't have that kind of money. If i had the money I would invest it purely on buying hard copies of the singles to help sales, but I buy the songs on itunes. So I don't know the culture of oshi-ing, which is why I dont' use the term myself, but my favorite members vs not as favorite members exists purely within my own mind and changing the rankings does absolutely nothing to affect the girls in any way.
