For anyone planning to go to the J-Pop Summit Festival in San Francisco, we have a new development: Camping out for prime viewing spots is no longer a viable option. The areas right in front of the stage, in J-Town and Union Square, are now reserved for VIP Pass ($85) and Premium Viewer Pass ($35) holders:

Yeah, I guess that after last year's huge turnout, they decided that they could turn this into a money-maker.
It does make sense. Bringing big-name Japanese artists (and especially groups) to the U.S. ain't cheap. If they put the money toward that, then it might be a good thing.
Be that as it may, I'm SOOOO glad they didn't pull this last year!

I like Otsuka Ai's new song/PV. It's bland, comfortable and kind of nostalgic.

Yeah, I really like the song. The album covers are pretty fantastic (

), too. I'm less than thrilled for the actual album, but that's because there's four-year old singles on it.
Since we're on that subject of avex artists, Hitomi Shimatani is releasing her first album in six years soon.
Actually, in about two weeks, but there's still no tracklisting posted. Yaburekabure was good, though.

I need to look up to see what my other avex's faves are up to... they all kinda petered out at once...

Ouch!
We were lucky last year to see Reina and Lovendor up close and personal for free weren't we?
Those days are probably gone forever now. No more freebees.
Looks like that chic with the boots won't be there either! Darn.
