Are you sure about that? I just think it's one of those songs that are popular among casual and hardcore fans alike, and it works well live, making it a good introduction to the group for viewers who are not familiar with °C-ute. It's one of their signature songs, after all, but who knows about it other than fans? I wouldn't elevate it to a transcendent level, that's more like Love Machine and Happy Summer Wedding. People know the lyrics and the melody to the songs, but they don't necessarily know the group behind them well.
It's like when S/mileage performed Yattaruchan out of the blue: that song is exactly what the group is about. It's just the perfect introduction for the uninformed viewer and serves as a gateway to their catalogue much more so than the odd Mystery Night.
