Translated the first comment on Tsunku's blog cause it's important and just shows how much he cares for them, but for the girls I'll just do a summary of what he said.
It's rough, but here's mine, Tsunku's, evaluation of the ability test.
I don't want anyone to read this and get depressed, I want you to read and improve the parts I'm pointing out.
Whether it's music or that you're on stage, no one is forcing you to do it.
The kenshuusei today must have the mindset of that they like it and want to do this, and want to stand on stage.
If you like what you do, you'll be able to continue to do it, so I don't want you to do something someone told you to, but just do what you feel that you want to.
And, within the individual comments, I've written things that I want all of kenshuusei, and people who are aiming to become singers, to realize so don't think that it has nothing to do with you just because it's not written by your name.
I want you to take everything to you and then move on from here.
If you can take this seriously and improve from it, there will be change within just half a year.
Kaga Kaede / SHALL WE LOVE
- Good sense of rhythm, good volume, among the top in kenshuusei.
- If it turned out this way because she was the first to go, she surely still have a lot to give.
- Practice more on singing and keeping rhythm at the same time.
- Not a good song choice.
- Work on breathing.
- Practice and more experience will be the best way to improve.
Yamaki Risa / Onna to otoko no lullaby game
- Despite being so new, she's already settled.
- Doesn't have a typical idol face but that's actually H!P-ish.
- Didn't get off pitch, despite the melody going up and down, sang well.
- Can't tell much just from this song, but her dancing doesn't seem bad.
- Old school songs she'd be able to pull off, but the timing and rhythm in JPOP today is different so more rhythm practice necessary.
- Bright image, a bit of a high-class feel, but doesn't feel much like an idol so I want her to use that to her advantage and create a new genre within H!P.
- She's not like Fukumura, but if she gets a good image she'll be a winner.
Taguchi Natsumi / 100kai no KISS
- Great rhythm while singing, Ayaya back then didn't.
- Good pitch and sharp singing.
- Unique vibrato.
- Still have to work on movements and how long to hold a tune etc, though this will surely come as she gets older.
- Work on more detailed muscles. While being young, Hirano and Itou who worked hard for female table tennis these days are just 13 years old. They are still going up against adults in their battles without complaining, so young girls today who're going for singing, don't come up with excuses like "I'm young." Work hard!
Yokogawa Yumei / Bagel ni ham & cheese
- Her pitch is off and rhythm all over the place, but this is way better than her audition footage last year so this is much more idol-ish.
- In terms of character, she's doing good.
- But "for now" isn't what we're looking for in H!P so use the energy to improve musically.
Inoue Hikaru / Otona na no yo!
- I could definitely tell she's working hard.
- Energetic and her dancing works well with her character.
- Work on breathing.
- It's important how they hold the microphone.
- A lot of potential so more experience will make for more stability.
- Could become a top in kenshuusei.
Makino Maria / Happy Summer Wedding
- Good with producing herself.
- Is aware of the dos and don'ts in dancing and singing in order to become a pro.
- Depending on how she goes with her "fool" character, she might get a lot of female fans.
- Has to remember it's not good to leaves 'small' comments/words.
- Trying too hard before the real thing will make one not improve as much, it's important to leave things to one's surroundings, as well.
Fujii Rio / Tabidachi no haru ga kita
- Good energy.
- For a while she couldn't settle down after the auditions and it was a bit worrying, but she's finally matured.
- The rhythm while singing isn't bad, but dancing has to improve.
- Good song choice.
Niinuma Kisora / Daisuki 100man ten
- Whenever this girl gets to the center she's invincible.
- Good signing, but the chorus in this song is difficult so she picked a hard one.
- She goes with the image of the song so good song choice.
Tanabe Nanami / Bagle ni ham & cheese
- Incredibly stable.
- Everything was great, except for that she raised her bangs, didn't really suit her as she is right now.
- Great skills so work on personality and rhythm for MCs.
Ogawa Rena / Sakura Mankai
- Good choice, good hair.
- Not the best singing, but the total was okay.
- Work on rhythm.
- Listen to good singers, take note of their singing and try to mimic what they do.
Mikame Kana / Samidare bijo ga samidareru
- Great energy.
- You can tell she's been studying H!P.
- Work on rhythm.
Hamaura Ayano / Yakimochi wo kudasai!
- Great expression.
- As expected a surprising song choice.
- Have to work on going to/from falsetto.
Kishimoto Yumeno / REAL LOVE
- I was worried about this, but she did a lot better than I thought she would.
- Stable singing.
- Mimic other singers and work hard and I'm sure she'll be able to become someone who's not very H!P-ish, in a good way.
Ichioka Reina / Jishin motte yume wo motte tobitatsu kara
- Difficult song choice.
- Great work with the audience, but she has to work on muscles in her hands there to make it even more impactful.
- Remember to do excersizes to improve those muscles everyday.
Haga Akane / Nanchatte renai
- Difficult song in terms of minor key, expression and emotion.
- Good mic hold.
- Too bad her expression was the same throughout the song.
- Work on rhythm and pitch.
Danbara Ruru / Memory seishun no hikari
- What's great about this girl is that her expression while singing is really good.
- Work on rhythm when it comes to ending syllables in sentences.
- Dancing has great rhythm, but rhythm in singing isn't quite at the same level so work on that.
Inaba Manaka / Sukichan
- Sharpest dance in kenshuusei right now.
- Good mic hold.
- Gives off a feel of a pro in a different way from Danbara.
- I want her to become on of those who's naturally on stage.
Funaki Musubi / DESTINY LOVE
- Difficult song choice.
- Not good dancing, but can tell she's working on it.
- If she'd just get down rhythm, she'll surely be able to improve her singing as well.
Sasaki Rikako / Kiseki no kaori dance.
- Great use of the stage.
- She's gone from being a "child" to just being generally energetic, it'll be interesting to see where she'll go with that from now on.
- Mic hold is important for vibrato and sharper singing.
Nomura Minami / My Days for You
- Great song and outfit choice.
- She's a necessary character in H!P right now.
- A difficult song, but she didn't make it appear that way.
- She's average, which might not be that happy to hear, but I want her to use that to her advantage and help that create her character.
Yoshihashi Kurumu / Naichau kamo
- She's gotten very powerful, her expression in dancing is great.
- She went off pitch every now and then, but the chorus was stable.
- Don't separate dancing and singing, think of them as one and work on them that way, if she'll understand this, her performance will surely improve.
Ooura Hirona / Suppin to namida.
- Difficult song choice.
- Vibrato and long tones comes from her naturally, and it doesn't sound bad, but practice is necessary for it to work well.
- Sang a line in the song surprisingly well.
- Some of her expressions made me wonder if she aimed for it to be a musical.
- Really seems suited for stageplays/musicals.
Murota Mizuki / Memory seishun no hikari
- Makeup, outfit, attitude was perfect.
- Work on breathing.
- Seeing this made me happy that she's in kenshuusei, knowing she'll be able to work on her detailed vibrato and breathing to improve more.
Wada Sakurako / Boogie Train '03
- Singing and dancing has improved.
- Mostly expression has improved a lot.
- Happy that H!P makes one feel this kind of growth.
- Still has to work on dancing and singing though so keep it up.
Yamagishi Riko / Aitai aitai aitai na
- Good mic hold and good singing.
- Went off pitch every now and then, but at least the audience could hear it and that's the first thing to work on - make sure the audience can hear one's singing.
- Necessary for H!P right now.
- She did the same movement during the chorus a lot, work on that. Maybe C-ute does as well, but they don't make it seem that way so if you're going to do the same movement over and over again, make sure it looks different. That's where emotion and expression plays a huge part.
Tanaka Karen / dearest.
- Really difficult song. Anyone who picks this is in for a challenge and it's not really fair to compare it to Matsuura.
- But that Tanaka has the mentality to go for this, is really important.
- She was kind of instable on the long tones, but many people go for vibrato as if asking people to listen, but she didn't - which is really impressive in itself.
- It's probably because she just likes this song and probably have listened to it a lot.
