Getting technically good pretty much only takes practice but being able to convey emotion and put that emotion into your voice when you sing usually is what seems to be most difficult. At least from just observing H!P girls. Some obviously are better than others, quicker than others, but generally? Emotion is what most girls lack. It's not often someone is great with expression but technically bad.
As a singer, I can tell you it is the more difficult things. BECAUSE, when you're singing you are concentrating on singing and you want to be good at singing - so you listen to how you sing the notes and you make sure your singing them correctly and this make you in the zone of concentration and you just forget about your face and your movements while your doing it. Being in a few musicals when I was younger, I can't tell you how many times I got yelled at for not smiling during a happy song. I was like "I'm singing woman! WHy do I need to smile? That makes it harder to sing!" Being able to express properly (Or too remember to) and still sing well takes practice. On top that that, for anyone even to see it on a stage, your expression have to be exaggerated (Smile bigger, eyes wider, frowns frownier) BUT they can't be over the top or it looks fake. It can be really difficult.
