If she did get scolded for something (a good probability), you'd think they'd refrain from doing it before a live performance, because things like this could and would happen.

And would they scold over breaking part of the costume?

Haruna has really been growing on me the past 1.5 years or so, and I don't know why! To me, she has a bit of a weird face (not in a bad way, just kinda weird, alien like with those eyes), but it keeps growing on me. And her character too.

^ I had to re-watch the performance just to catch Maa-chan twice wiping her face. At first I didn't notice anything wrong with her. How do you guys even notice things like that? I'm amazed. Doesn't look like anything serious to me though. She looks slightly down than her usual happy face. Saw Ayumin glancing at her couple of times too. But knowing Maa-chan, she'll be fine in no time

Masaki is usually the type to just shrug off a scolding (according to Reina, which is why she and Sayu have different approaches to dealing with her). Maybe they broke the news to the group that it's been decided that Sayu will announce her graduation soon? I could see that making her sad, since they're quite close. That's just speculation though lol.

She could've just been having a bad night? These girls are only human, so it's normal for them to get emotional sometimes. They have a busy schedule, and since it was at the start of a concert tour, I'm sure she was under a lot of pressure. And it was just Christmas/New Year's -- getting back into the swing of things can sometimes be difficult.

Masaki is only 14, remember. 14 year old girls have lots of things going on. Sometimes they get emotional just because they're tired/worn out (as do most people, but teenage girls are prone to it) and sometimes they seem sad for no real reason. Sometimes it's stress.

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. It seems like it was only that one concert where she looked upset, too, from reports. So I doubt it's anything big.

I also wouldn't have noticed unless it was pointed out. But, it probably is nothing more than
her broken costume that upset her so. She might of felt her performance was diminished because of it.

At the JPOP Summit in SF, you could see Reina was visibly upset (upset isn't quite the right word), maybe displeased,
or saddened, after her costume malfunction, on top of the sound system failure. She probably felt like crying.
Even being the professional that Reina is it took her several minutes before she regained her Reina mojo that we love so much.

You can't really compare Tanaka's malfunction that stopped her dead in her track til the staff (or whoever) set her free, to Maa-chan's broken button (or whatever it was).

Also, please quit it with the Sayu graduation talk nonsense. If it happens, it happens, but no need to speculate on such things. It become depressing to read.
