To be honest, she sings that song better than the current morning musume.

I strongly disagree, this MM performance is superior is all aspects imo, including the singing (meimei is singing in the wrong tone, and her shouts weren't very well done. She was good, but not great this time)

You can't really... compare a group performance to a solo performance though. They're two completely different things. Besides, Meimi's was a solo performance at a small fanclub event. That performance you linked was from a graduation concert at a HUGE venue .

Not saying the MM。performance was bad (it was actually fucking amazing), but you know. It's kinda silly to compare them. I, personally, wasn't trying to say Meimi sang the song better than MM。or whatever, but more that I thought it was a good performance for what it was, so I posted it. Considering Meimi's 14, and that it was a solo performance, I thought she did pretty well.

Meimi is a good singer, but i feel as if she like holding her breath just to sing in that deep tone (I've noticed that a lot recently especially noted in that Chotto Matte Kudasai video). It seems so unnatural to me..

Even though Tsunku basically said that he didn't want to "waste" Sakura on S/mileage, it's funny that Meimi (a S/mileage member) sings oodles better than every current MM singer. One may argue that Sakura is the sole member in MM that sings better than Meimi but I feel like Meimi out-sang her in that Gatamekira performance.

I really wish that Meimi would've been put into MM because I feel like she's getting underused as a S/mileage member. Such a shame.

Long story short, Meimi > Current MM.
