AKBN0 aren't AKB related.

Also, they changed their name to N Zero a while ago.

^And that shows just how little attention I've been paying. XD

But it is nice to see that there are starting-from-nothing grassroots idol groups popping up so frequently now in Japan. It's a good trend.

Yeah that. I have no problem at all with gravure but those were just poorly shot and looked awful. I found that whole collaboration thingy with FRIDAY magazine to be tacky too. Even before those photobooks and image dvds her comeback was centered around an advice book and those awkward dvds of her going up to "strangers" and telling them the dangers of smoking and unprotected sex. At the time I thought it was kinda cute in a campy/cheesy sort of way I guess but like... Her jazz phase wasn't bad but it felt really random and was handled quite poorly, didn't last long either. The constant tabloid fodder kinda made things bleak too, for me anyway.

I gave up on Kago a while back. I don't know if I'd be prepared to be a fan of hers again if this was actually a cool project.

All of that only goes to prove how valuable good management is. Chances are she had no control over the photographer. Chances are she had no realization that it was in FRIDAYs interest to make her look lurid and tacky. Chances are she had no clue, any more than the average person, how to positively advance her career or to restore her image. Even UF themselves bungled Morning Musume's publicity for years. Even mighty AVEX couldn't keep Goto from imploding. Even an experienced veteran like Yaguchi fell prey to human weakness.

I've never been famous, but by all accounts, it's not easy.
