Incidentally lots of girls in Morning Musume could probably say that depending on how you view the girls' weight.

I call shenanigans on that photo at 1:12 in the clip. It appears to me like they squished the vertical dimensions of the image to make her look far chunkier than she actually is.

Honestly, I like a bit of fat on my idols. Makes them seem healthier than if they were super skinny.

Zukki's always looked fine to me. I've never thought she was "too fat" or whatever it is. I don't have a problem with her weight. Nor anyone else's, for that matter. The H!P girls all look perfectly healthy to me.

But, y'know. Japan.

I actually hadn't even noticed she gained weight tbh. Then someone uploaded a video from the 9th gen audition and pointed it out.

Tbh it'd be scary if a 12 year old didn't gain weight as she grew older.
That they put her in unflattering outfits didn't make anything better, either. Or weird hairstyles. Or wrong pattern on the outfits. She's lost weight since last year so maybe, just maybe she had a phase that most teenagers have where they gained a bit more and then lose it as they keep growing -- and in her case, keep being active. Not to mention she probably has hell of a lot of muscles, too. And the fact that the camera adds a few kgs. To everyone. Just imagine how skinny Haruna and Ayumi must look in real life.
Reina is freaking tiny after all and while she looks thin on camera, she doesn't look AS small as she actually is imo.
Ugh so ridiculous all of it.

It's positive in a condescending way. Like, "You're fat, but that's what in now, so it's cool *Haughty laugh*"

BUT I think Zukki should just try to spin this to her favor and embrace being "The Chunky one (Even if it's temporary)." Get her out in TV shows, being all talky and weird like usually, crack a joke about being able to eat whatever she wants once and a while. Zukki can start a revolution here if spun right, she can make teenage female idol fans feel okay with their own bodies, simply by embracing this. I think if this continues down the right path, you'll see her popularity really rise.

Honestly, in my opinion, Zukki is very, very pretty and I don't think she's that big, but whatever, go with it.

Well, I'm sure that if Kanon was told to look at it in that way and talk like that she would. But it's the management that has to push her for it so.. -_-;;

Sayu got a question during her talk corner at her FC bus tour about Zukki’s weight. She side-stepped it and said this probably will get cut from the DVD. Wotas took this to mean Zukki’s weight has become a taboo topic in H!P

The whole video is squished. Whoever uploaded it botched the aspect ratio. Having said that, I can't tell if the photos are extra squished as YouTube doesn't have the option to play with the aspect ratio of videos. Stupid YouTube. :@

Shokotan is chosen as the #1 respected female talent in men's magazine. also Morning Musume and Smileage were some artists that gave her power (パワーをくれるアーティスト)
