Just looking at those pictures, for some reason I keep thinking of the pictures I've seen of the original 1997 "sell 50,000 copies of Ai no Tane or else" promo -- If they can even get me to make that involuntary mental comparison (and I doubt if I'm the only one), they're definitely doing something right.
