Hehehe, in every show and print media related to SQ's history, the producers seem to really love to mention how SQ's first few singles sold NOTHING.

It's really boring that they don't sing live, and I really don't like the dance during the chorus.
Even if it's just to have them sing live when they're finally on TV, please only give lines to those who can sing.

and theres the problem. people want solo lines for each member cuz they think its "funner", its hard to please both crowds. we're also divided and not united. ever.

I don't care what other people want, to be honest. To keep the quality up they shouldn't give lines in singles (which will be played, and showed to people on TV and such - reaching people who don't know them) to those who can't sing well or live. In concert, of course everyone should get lines but not in singles like these. Maasa, Captain and Chinami, especially, don't carry themselves as well live and thus should be left to the b-side or album songs - or at least the second part of the song.
The problem Musume has is that there ARE people in there who can sing a lot more than they get credit for, of course there are those who can't (Sayumi, Erina, Aika sometimes) and I'd say they'd get the same treatment, while the other girls should definitely get more than they're getting.

I wouldn't mind if the girls in Berryz would get like, unison lines obviously. That doesn't require as much and it'd be easier to pull off too. But them getting many solo lines in singles like this just keeps them from singing live. And if that is not the reason, then Berryz is probably hated by someone.

They used to let Momo, Miya and Risako sing live on TV shows, while the rest were clearly not. Even that's better than going 100% AKB style.

Having seen the HM performance, I must reluctantly conclude that Socko is the one who backed that thang up most skilfully. And I'm just going to guess that they're not singing live because all that rump shaking would make their voices sound wobbly through a mic.

When they each had solo lines they weren't rump-shaking, so there's really no excuse. If a couple of them sing less-than-stellar live, then so be it, but it really seems to be what's keeping H!P going--the "artist" factor over AKB's "purely replaceable mound of idols" factor.
Or, like rm said, just let Momoko, Miyabi and Soccko sing live. MM does it sometimes. But they're certainly not lipsynching full performances anymore. >_>
