lol how many foreign fans actually do anything to support her? Things like translating TV stuff related to her and posting videos of her for other fans could even count. If she was still releasing music, buying her CDs could count. It's kind of pretentious to say things like that you'll keep standing by her when I bet most of us don't really do anything for her to begin with.

The friend analogy doesn't apply because we really aren't her friends and it'd be pretentious to consider ourselves her friends if we don't really do anything for her. If something goes wrong with her marriage then we're not the one who'd help her move, loan her money if she needs any, etc.

Of course we can have opinions about the issue, but like what several people have been saying, it's none of our business.

By the way, on the topic of marriage, I like how in some Nordic countries people tend to just live together for many, many years (like even 15+ years) without feeling the need to get married and there is no stigma against kids born out of wedlock because sometimes people just get married after they have their first kid.

Why get married if your not going to even try to be monogamous? That is weird to me, in this world it seems marriage is practically the same as dating.

Oh well, just be miserable forever?

In a case where you're miserable, you've made it clear to your spouse that that's the situation (and if you haven't then you should, and likely that obvious lack of communication between you and your spouse is part of your problem), and he/she doesn't agree and won't grant you a divorce... in that case cheating is different. When you hate the situation and have made that imminently clear to your spouse, but they insist on disrespecting your feelings; when you want out for well-reasoned reasons but aren't being allowed to do anything--then I wouldn't consider is "cheating" so much. You've already divorced yourself from this person in your mind and out loud to them, even if they won't sign papers.
Also... yeah, what Starra said about "staying together for the kids." I feel like it's just not worth it. So long as everyone's civil, and it isn't a monetary nightmare, I think it works out better apart.
I've never been in that kind of a situation, so I guess I'm just kind of throwing stones, but that's my two cents. :hehe:

However Yaguchi's case, at least how it's been presented to us, is different. Her husband didn't realize that there were issues that would lead her into the arms of another man, and was basically just caught off guard finding her with someone else in their bed. That, to me, is cheating, and is a massive abuse of trust.
But she's just a celebrity I don't know personally, and I don't know all the details of her life or about this situation, nor do I want to. I won't let this color my perception of her and what she does in any huge manner.
Not like it super matters to her since I don't buy anything she puts out. :hehe:

Two years. Wednesday was their anniversary.
Has it been that long? I feel like they just announced it.

I mean none of what the girls do off of the stage/away from cameras is any of our business and yet...

I am surprised that no one has done a mash up of the news CGI and the CGI that Mari voice acted for in that hostess lady(?) game.

While I'm very disappointed to read this news about Yaguchi I don't like the way some people here are bashing her and calling her bad names |(
After all we have no idea how (I don't count the CGI as reliable source :-P ) or why this really happened since neither Nakamura or Yaguchi has confirmed the news or told their side of the story. But then of course you could also say since none of them haven't denied the scandal it's probably true in some way or another...

I do not defend her actions - I think that cheating is one of the lowest things you can to your partner - but I won't judge her either since we have no official statement (other than "I'm sorry") from the three people involved. She's still my favorite OG and I'll continue to read her blog and watch her appearances on tv.

Did we? Though only a few people jumped to her defense/put in a good word, most of us here just pretty clearly said we didn't care/none our business
Most of the discussion are about hypothetical situations that has little to do with Yaguchi at all.

What generates the biggest reaction out of me from this whole circus is that the timing really, really sucks for that it eclipsed one of Morning Musume's special graduation days as a topic in general press. Not really helping that a few articles mentioned that this happened a few months ago and was the reason they lived separately now.
Why the hell only now that it turned into such a circus of all times then ... /tinfoilhats-mode

Yes, by the way. I was only reacting to what TU said about accepting people's weaknesses. I really don't care about the news itself. We've known she is a bit of a lush ever since Yaguchi Hitori / How To Monkey Baby, so this should be no surprise at all.

^^Although to be fair, I doubt that either story (Reina's grad or Mari's naughtiness) made much of an impression on the Japanese public in general. That's kind of how entertainment news is -- pretty much all stories are disposable, and are quickly replaced by other, equally disposable stories. Fans will focus on their favorites, but to everyone else, it's just a blur.

Spoiler: show
And real Morning Musume fans know that the only thing that matters is LINE COUNT! If [fill in the name of your favorite here] didn't get enough lines, that's a MAJOR scandal! XD
If madness made us strong, we would all be invincible.
