Re: [5/11] Morning Musume。'16 61st single [Utakata Saturday Night! / The Vision / Tokyo to iu Katasumi] (Kanon's last)

I didn't dislike the video, but it made some odd choices. Like the weird cranberry juice color grading of the portion inside the soundstage. What was the reason for that? The whole soundstage vs. wall/corridor shots, It was like they took two entirely different videos and spliced them together, which I would probably normally be happy about. But the wall/corridor shots seemed like they were telling a story and I wanted to know more about that story then the poorly shot/graded soundstage portion. I am really liking the song, it's so dramatic with those frantic Jiriri Kiteru-like strings and the irrefutability of "IRU!" As for the dance, it looks like it has real pop and energy during the chorus, but I find that the quick cuts have the effect of dampening the energy transmitted to the viewer. That blob at 1:48?? I'm really not seeing any useful purpose being served by that.

God damn, The Vision is beautiful. I was gonna be annoyed because they were doing the dance team vs singing team thing again which is a gimmick I'm really not fond of, but the song itself is so good.

If you can't relate to the lyrics even a little bit then I honestly envy you ;_;.

I feel like... Kanon might be one of the chorus voices for Utakata, if not the chorus voice. I feel like I can hear her the most clearly many times in the unison parts.

In general though, it does feel like they're trying to treat her really well in these last three songs. If she doesn't have the lines in the songs, it seems like she's getting the face time in the videos. I really appreciate that they're doing that.

EDIT: Just saw The Vision H!S edit and it's so beautiful. The dance team's choreography is so nice and it's shot so well. Much better job than Oh My Wish highlighting them. I could barely pull my eyes from them. I also enjoyed the 12th Gen push, I really am coming to like Akane's voice.
