Music Fair is kind of like Music Station.

"Kind of" being the keyword. It's not live, it's not the same "most recent songs" music show and it's not on the same network. Music Fair is on Fuji TV which means no lipsyncing is allowed.
It is a difficult show to get on - or at least H!P hasn't been on it for ages. MM used to do idol medleys and such on that show when they would have a "Idol special" or similar. They often do live bands and also rare collaborations between artists that wouldn't happen if it hadn't been for that they appeared on that show. They have very clean, but imo pretty, sets too.

It's about as weird/random/out of the blue for Berryz to appear there as it would be if they would suddenly get an invitation to Music Station.

Because they haven't done anything outstanding in a long time. No sudden super hit, no super high numbers, no weekly 1, nothing "special," they've just been going on as usual and now suddenly all these things happen -- it's weird. Not bad, just weird. Good for them though, of course.

Everything about this release is quite strange so far, it feels like something big is going to happen even if it's just this rumoured stadium tour.

They're probably on Music Fair due to their 10th anniversary. It may not seem like a big deal, but not every idol group stays that active to reach a tenth or a fifteenth year, like Berryz and MM. So maybe it's due to their 10th anniversary, and this is the most recent single after it. Kind of like how MM.'s getting alot of attention due to their "idol comeback".

I have a feeling that this will be their best selling single though. Looks like alot of promotion awaits them.

There's promotion, but the quality of the songs and the PV will be important when it comes to it being their best selling single or not
