It's been rumored several times and never come to fruition. She wanted out of the public eye, so I don't know why she would choose to do AV all of a sudden.
And even aside from all of that, she could definitely come back to the industry even after AV, especially if it was something more of a nudie PB rather than a video with actual sex, etc.

I would definitely prefer a nude pb. She could comeback as a variety talent for sure, her music though There's indie labels and everything but...but!! I just find it so weird how out of nowhere all these tabloids started reporting on it. If it was just one them then ok whatever but I think there's been three or four now? Maybe it's just cause it's been over a year since her hiatus was announced. anyway yeah you're right it is just a rumour

I saw a Maki lookalike AV at a BOOK-OFF in Nagoya when I was there in 2007, but I didn't buy it. If I recall correctly, it was called GoTo Make It.

I think it's somewhat unlikely that Maki would do JAV. She could always find work in the music/showbiz world, and would be enough for a living.
If she wants some quick cash though (and it could get lucrative, depending on her success), I could see her making the decision...
