I bought some goods from overseas. Because of Trump's tariffs, I had to pay an extra 32 dollars for import taxes to the delivery guy, at my front door. 32 dollars from my wallet! I was not ready for this. If I didn't pay it, he was not gonna give me my package.

What delivery service was it that sent you the packages?

I would guess either DHL, or Japan Post (EMS/SAL) hand-off to USPS. Both of those would demand any money due upon receipt.
In contrast, FedEx and UPS typically make the shipper pay up front, but the additional overhead means only large shippers use them for international orders.

It was UPS. This is the first time this is happened for me, so it was a surprise.

In my experience UPS isn't the best. Had lots of issues with them in the past. Always try to avoid them but sometimes you have no choice.
DHL has always been great. Always deliver correctly & great customer service. At least in my area.
