^^
I prefer 2-in-1 laptops. As soon as Apple gets on board, I'll be first in line for one.

I got back to the U.S. last Tuesday night! Definitely miss the amazing food and public transportation in Japan, but I'm glad to be home as well. It's my first time coming back to the U.S. from abroad where I don't just feel ultra annoyed at everything. Like after being in Japan for five weeks it's actually refreshing to see more chaos and personality out in public here.
Wanted to come back and resume studying Japanese on my own but life has been busy.
Oh I did see an idol show while I was there. I knew nothing about them but someone gave me the info to see Koutei Camera Girl Vier/Bellring Shoujo Heart at an event in Yokosuka so I went down there (interesting area overall for U.S./Japan relations). It was really fun because the wota crowd was really lively.
Despite not listening to J-Pop for like idk 10-15 years now, I recognized so many songs when I was out and about in Japan. There was a 24-hr grocery store I went to all the time where I'd especially recognize a lot of the songs or at least the voice of the artist (like Koda Kumi, I don't listen to her but I'd know her voice). Trying to get back into it more.

erilaz TsuShiMaMiRe is coming to Atlanta in September so I'm hoping to see them.

^ I'm sad that they're not hitting the western states on this tour, but I'm glad you'll get to see them!
Shonen Knife will be hitting Santa Fe on their tour in October, so my sister and brother-in-law have bought their tickets to see them for the first time. (I'll be seeing them in San Francisco, of course. It'll be my 20th Shonen Knife show.)

I keep getting this [Too Many Requests. Too many requests for jplop.com] notice when I come onto Jplop. I thought maybe it was just my home network, but I noticed it also does it when I'm at work.

Yes, those bots are getting really annoying.

There are hundreds of bots pounding this site at any interval, sometimes over a thousand. Hopefully it will, die down as it has in the past, but otherwise as I've said before, Cloudflare may have to happen.

Looks like a DDOS…

…and it's choking the site's PHP and/or SQL engine. (I'm leaning toward PHP because I'm also seeing page rendering errors that don't — or shouldn't — depend on SQL.)
Or people keep reloading the site and it isn't purging the user sessions. It went up to 1739 guests as I was posting this, like it's a memory leak.

Yeah, getting constant errors and time-outs.

Over 2000 just a moment ago.

From the past times this has happened, there's basically *one* out of control bot that will keep spamming our url for several weeks, and then eventually it will be deactivated, and things will drift back to normal. So as of right now plan A is to wait out the inconvenience. There are other options, which are to varying extent inconvenient, impractical, or foolhardy, that I'll consider if it comes to it.

Reason: 24 August, seems things have in fact drifted back to normal for now
