A 17 year history! HOLY KOW! I first played in 2008 after watching from afar for a couple of years not knowing what was going on.

It's a nice resume embellishment for the winner too.

Is this a popularity contest?
This is an annual purge of the membership ranks of Jplop: for many members of the website whenever their oshi is voted off they leave the website in disgust, never to be seen again. To prevent this, many of the members of the website with the same oshi will secretly band together by private message to plot ways to protect their oshi, voting as a group against other people's oshi's. Fingers will be pointed and harsh words will be typed.
Since I am a DD, I don't have to worry about this drama too much.
I’m not DD but I don’t get mad when my favorite girls are thrown off the island. I get more mad when a girl I don’t like keeps making it at the expense of someone I do like lol

Is anyone going to give Tobo_Junny135 a real answer?
I swear, I don't mean to sound snooty about this. It's just that as a technical writer, I have an almost compulsive need to explain things properly, and this exchange is making me itch.

There is nothing stopping you from providing a real answer.

It's a popularity contest (or reverse popularity contest) loosely modeled off of the show "Survivor" wherein over the course of several voting rounds, jplop members are instructed to cast votes in favor of our least favorite h!p girls being eliminated from the contest. Generally in each round the girls are broken into several smaller subgroups determined by the contest master, and the jplop members have to vote to eliminate a girl from each subgroup. Thus after the conclusion of a round, several more h!p girls are successively eliminated (or colloquially "voted off the island"). Fewer and fewer girls remain, until, after many rounds, there are only enough girls remaining for one small group of finalists. Then the finalists are "voted off" one by one until only two girls are left, and then after one last round one girl is declared the runner-up and the remaining girl is declared the winner.
As Shoujo Q pointed out, just like in the real "Survivor" there is room for some strategizing, such as jplop members banding together to vote off a popular girl in an early round, so as to clear the path for a less popular girl that they want to protect from elimination.

Ahh, gotcha. Sounds fun.
Basically all I have to do is vote and cross my fingers the girl I vote for gets the highest votes to be eliminated.

Word of caution. It is very important to read the instructions for each vote round. There may be a twist to a round. Never assume anything.

ps Oh yeah, don't believe your eyes and ears or anything I say.

Your first paragraph is seemingly truthful
But your second paragraph...
Where is the lie?

Rikkow is an enigma that many are still trying to figure out.
