Viewers angry over decisions made in episode 11.
https://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20171022-00000011-jct-ent
Spoiler: show
Viewers/fans of Last Idol were not happy with the choice made in episode 11 by judge Yoshida Gou. He was called on to pass judgement on the battle between Kamohara and Nagatsuki, and he chose Kamohara as the winner. He was the only judge of the four on the panel that chose Kamohara (though the other judges choices don't matter, only the judge called upon makes the final decision). His reasoning was along the lines of thinking the group was lacking in interesting characters and good expressions; the rest of the judges were against the decision, saying Nagatsuki had the most idol-like qualities of all the members. Viewers online chimed in with a similar sentiment, many people wanting him to stop appearing on the show completely.
---- ---- ---- ----

Supposedly (I can't find a link source) Yoshida also gave an interview during one of Nagatsuki's previous battles where he stated that he was happy he didn't have to judge then because he might've chosen the challenger simply to make things interesting, leading some to believe he made his mind up even before watching the battle.

Most fans seem to harbor no ill will toward Kamohara, praising her singing but being of the opinion that she's more suited to becoming a singer-songwriter instead of an idol.

Summary:
Spoiler: show
- Episode starts with footage from the recent event at Tower Records featuring both the
current Last Idol members and the 2nd unit Good Tears.
- A small preview of the episode ahead.
- A recap of the singers battle last week for position #5, and the shocking results.
- Performance of "Bandwagon" with the new lineup.
- The next challenger is revealed; Oishi Natsumi (大石夏摘). She's 13 years old and signed to talent agency palette. She's done no idol work, but including Last Idol she has had two TV appearances, been cast in one stage play, been part of three ad campaigns, and has had one modeling job. She lists Japanese dance as a special skill.
- Oishi nominates Ozawa Aimi (position #3).
- Oishi performs "Cutie Honey" (キューティーハニー) by Koda Kumi (倖田來未).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koda_Kumi

- Ozawa performs "Otona Ressha" (大人列車) by HKT48.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HKT48

- Judge Kurata Mayumi (倉田真由美), mangaka, is called on to announce the winner.
- Kurata announces Oishi Natsumi as the winner. She will immediately join the group and take position #3.
- Comments from both girls. Ozawa crying.
- The judge explains the reason behind the choice and Ozawa leaves the stage.
- The super awkward self introduction to the other Last Idol members as they cry.
- Ozawa backstage crying.
- Preview of next week, a new 16 year old bishoujo challenger.

Personal thoughts:
Spoiler: show
- Some of these girls still can't hold a mic properly despite training for weeks. If you're going to partially lipsync you still need to be convincing:
1. Don't hold the mic far away from your face.
2. Don't sing into the side of the mic.
3. Don't wobble it around.

- I kind of agree with this choice? But I also don't care about either of them.
- I was hoping they'd call on Marty this episode.

Episode 13 (These are whatl I could find. TV Asahi got wise to the DM uploads. If I find dailymotion links later, I'll swap them out.)

https://www.bilibili.com/video/av16074409/?from=search&seid=12910718977276031074

Summary:
Spoiler: show
- Starts with short re-cap.
- Group performs "Bandwagon" with newest member.
- The next challenger is introduced, Kiyohara Rio (清原梨央). She's a model signed to Twin Planet/taimu. She has no idol experience.
- Kiyohara nominates Kamohara Rena, position #5.
- Kiyohara performs "Nandome no Aozora ka?" (何度目の青空か?) by Nogizaka46 (乃木坂46).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nogizaka46

- Kamohara performs "Wherever you are" by ONE OK ROCK.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Ok_Rock

- The judge Nakamori Akio, columnist, is called on to reveal the winner.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akio_Nakamori

- Nakamori announces Kamohara Rena as the winner of the battle. She will keep her position.
- Yet another new unit is announced. It's a trio featuring Nagatsuki Midori (長月翠), Ozawa Aimi (小澤愛実), and Matsumoto Momona (松本ももな).
- The group is called シュークリームロケッツ / Cream Puff Rockets. Based on the official Twitter accounts they seem to be using the romanization Choucream Rockets (cream puffs = Choux Cream in Japan).
- The new unit performs their first song, "Souzoujou Fruits" (想像上のフルーツ; Imaginary Fruits).
- A preview of the next episode. The next challenger is Oomori Rio (大森莉緒) from the Pink Lady little sister group Pink Babies (ピンク・ベイビーズ ), disbanded in 2017.

Personal thoughts:
Spoiler: show
- I'm annoyed they caught on to the dailymotion uploads this soon, it makes this a lot harder.
- It's odd that Rena is being challenged so quickly, and by a model with no experience in singing or musical performance. And why is position 5 getting so much play. If I'm remembering correctly, 5 has been challenged more than any other position.
- Kiyohara put on a smile and tried though, good for her.
- Rena chose a terrible song to perform in a battle. The whole thing was pretty crap.
- The third unit has the most idol-like song so far.

- Oomori nominates Oishi Natsumi (position #3) for battle. Oishi just earned her position in episode 12.
- Oomori performs "Ashita Mo" (明日も) by MUSH&Co. (MUSH&Co. was a temporary band formed to promote a film in 2013; the lead singer was actress and singer Ohara Sakurako (大原櫻子).)

https://twitter.com/himeri_spindle
http://www.spindle-official.com/

- Momiyama nominates Yoshizaki Aya (position #2) for battle. There's an 8 year age difference between them.
- Momiyama changes into her roller skates for her performance. She performs "Gingham Check" (ギンガムチェック) by AKB48.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AKB48

- Yoshizaki performs "Yasashii Kimochi" (やさしい気持ち) by Chara.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chara_(singer)

- Judge (couldn't catch his name) is called on to announce the winner.
- He announces Yoshizaki Aya as the winner, she will keep her position.
- The Last Idol group performs "Bandwagon".
- A very quick look at the challenger in the next episode; Inoko Reia (猪子 れいあ). She's an eighth generation member of the trainee group iDOL Street Street-sei under avex's iDOL Street division (Wasuta, GEM, etc), and a member of the e-street-sei trainee group SAPPORO Snow♥Loveits (サッポロ Snow♥Loveits).
http://www.idolstreet.jp/profile/member.php?id=1001070

Personal thoughts:
Spoiler: show
- Oomori is pretty cute, and her singing is decent.
- Judges continue to make weird decisions.
- Momiyama's voice was pleasant enough. Her skates seemed a little useless though.
- Yoshizaki's voice was mostly fine too, just a little annoying at parts.
- I don't think either of them were particularly impressive or better than the other.
- Next week's challenger looks like someone I might like. In the same vein as Midori.

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x69upxy
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x69ukly

Summary:
Spoiler: show
- The episode starts with a short preview.
- It gets tense for a second when the MC reveals that there will be an announcement
regarding Last Idol.
- The debut CD jackets for Last Idol will be shot by famous photographer Ninagawa Mika. She has also directed several films and music videos, including AKB48's "Heavy Rotation".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mika_Ninagawa

- Ninagawa Mika is in the studio as part of the judges panel. She offers her comments.
- Footage from the last handshake event is shown briefly.
- The next challenger is revealed, 13 year old Inoko Reia (猪子れいあ). She was an eighth generation member of the avex idol trainee program iDOL Street-sei under the iDOL Street division (SUPER☆GiRLS, Cheeky Parade, GEM, Wasuta), and was a member of the e-street trainee group SAPPORO Snow♥Loveits (サッポロ Snow♥Loveits). (NOTE: The iDOL Street-sei no longer exist. avex recently started recruiting for a new project called Avex Idol Academy. Reia's current status is unknown, though her profile still lists avex. (Special thanks to ainogundan on Twitter for up-to-date info.))
- Inoko nominates Abe Nanami, center position.
- Comments from both competitors.
- Inoko asks for a moment to do vocal warm-ups.
- Inoko performs "Synchro Tokimeki" (シンクロときめき) by Watanabe Mayu (渡辺麻友).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayu_Watanabe

- There seems to be something wrong/off with Abe's voice or throat.
- Abe performs "Brand New World" (ブランニューワールド) by Denpagumi.inc (でんぱ組.inc).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dempagumi.inc

- Judge Ninagawa Mika, photographer and director, is called on to announce the winner of the battle.
- Ninagawa announces that Abe Nanami is the winner, she will keep the center position.
- Reactions and comments from both girls, and Ninagawa offers her reasoning.
- Inoko gives more comments backstage.
- Last Idol once again performs their debut song "Bandwagon".

Personal thoughts:
Spoiler: show
- I always think it's risky going after the center position.
- Pausing to do vocal warm-ups on stage in front of everyone seemed kind of rude.
- Decent performance of a mediocre song.
- Another alright performance of a mediocre song. She tried hard even with throat/vocal issues.
- The contestants went from having relatively varied ages to all being super young. If they
wanted a group full of 13 year olds they shouldn't have made the eligibility age so high.

Summary
Spoiler: show
- There's supposed to be a big, shocking announcement this week.
- The episode starts with the Last Idol members coming onto the stage.
- Kamohara Rena, who defeated Nagatsuki Midori to take position #5, does not come out with the other members. There's an announcement regarding Rena. The judge panel and the audience are confused.
- Marty Friedman has returned to the judges panel.
- A special interview video with Kamohara is played.
- Kamohara Rena has withdrawn from the group/program. She realized her dream is to become a singer, not an idol, and thus she decided to step away. Position #5 is vacant.
- Koga Yako and the judges panel comment on the situation at hand.
- Original holder of position #5 and current member of Chou Cream Rockets (Creampuff Rockets), Nagatsuki Midori, will battle former episode 13 position #5 challenger Kiyohara Rio in order to decide who will take the spot left vacant by Kamohara.

- Brief footage of a handshake and mini live at Tower Records, running over the credits.
- Nothing mentioned about Nagatsuki's membership in Chou Cream Rockets; expect something next week.
- There will only be 3 more challengers before the show ends, and the final lineup will be in place in preparation for CD debut in December.
- Next week the challenger is a girl named Nakamura Shuri (中村守里), a talent signed to Ohta Pro.
http://www.ohtapro.co.jp/talent/NakamuraShuri/
https://twitter.com/nakamura_shuri

Personal thoughts
Spoiler: show
- There was so much backlash online when Kamohara took position #5 from Nagatsuki, it
makes this whole thing feel awfully convenient. Maybe she really does just want to be
a singer. It would make sense, given her YT videos. But it totally feels like they just didn't want to deal
with fans being mad about Nagatsuki/they wanted her popularity for the main group.
- Nagatsuki was the only one I cared a little bit about though, so whatever.
- Damnit let Marty judge, guys. I like him.
- They sound appropriately bad this time. They've really let up on the lipsync.

Gravure in the "YA Gura-Hime 2017" (Young Animal Gravure Princess 2017) competition.
https://tokyogirlsupdate.com/young-anim ... 18178.html

- Last Idol's debut single for December is announced/promoted.

Personal thoughts
Spoiler: show
- It's weird that they don't call Chou Cream Rockets the 2nd unit, and this new one the 3rd unit.
- Majima looks oddly different without makeup on.
- Every group, every single extra group, has a better debut song than Last Idol. Wtf is up with that.
- I liked Nakamura's song choice A LOT more, but I think Suzuki performed better.
- Freaking finally, I've been more excited about them calling on Marty than I have the actual show.

- Yamamoto nominates Oishi Natsumi, position #3. The battle will take place next week. A preview shows Yoshida Gou is called on as the judge to make the winning announcement. It's expected the final 2nd Unit (fifth overall) will be revealed next week as well.

Personal thoughts
Spoiler: show
- Again, doing your vocal warm-ups right in front of everyone seems rude. And unnecessary.
- Yasuda did better overall. I don't care about her, but it would be stupid to get rid of her.
- I'm annoyed they didn't reveal the last unit here, but I guess the final episode needs more than just one battle.
