Every time I meet them
I’m fascinated, “They have such lovely profiles…”

How nice

Be warned that it's not about Airi's character. It's about the actor-comedian Hitoshi Ueki (i.e., the man in the copper-colored suit) and his assistant/protégé. Airi's character appears only as a guest star on the variety show within the show, and therefore she has relatively little screen time. In fact, after a quick scrub through, I don't think she appears again after her song near the beginning.

That being said, you gotta see her in the lavender dress.

Meimi did very well.
Spoiler: show
Computerized point-based competitions like this are tough, because though technically the one girl beat Meimi according to the algorithm, Meimi's performance sounded faaaar superior to me. Maybe I just don't care for the tone of the other girls' voice, I dunno.

ON that same note, in the final showdown in the show (@ ~28:30),

Spoiler: show
there's no question in my mind that the KonnoXKannon lovechild girl should have won. She just gave such a better performance, even if she didn't hold all of the lines quite as long as is considered technically perfect.

^^ Hey that's Aida Nikolaychuk (internet famous because of her "lipsync" performance). Also, I completely agree that Emiko Suzuki was outstanding and should've won -- Meimi, as much as enjoyed her performance, would not have approached her in a head-to-head competition. Niizuma Seiko was very good I don't think her performance had Emiko's heart. But, whatever. Seiko's 36 and Suzuki's 18 -- she has plenty of time to catch up.

Agreed--it would have been interested to hear Meimi attempt some of those other songs, but she definitely wouldn't have won against that steep competition in the end.
