Awwwww.
My hopes, they are dashed. ^^;;

When I went to Japan back in Feb 2007, the only H!P-related songs I heard on overhead radio/etc in stores were Nakazawa's URARA and WaT's Ready Go! :hehe:

^ I heard "Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance" at a Yoshinoya in Akihabara.

Nijiya Market in San Francisco's Japantown had an advertising banner for Pocky featuring Ayaya, Ishihara Satomi, Nakama Yukie, and Shibasaki Kou for several years. I was very sad when they took it down.

The first time I went to Japan (in 2006), you could still see Ayaya's picture all over the place. My favorite was the triple image on the sides of the Kirin drink machines:

^ When you yourself are responsible for the H!Pishness, that would be more like a staged photo shoot than an encounter in the wild.

Not exactly encountering H!P itself, but I received an Idol!Swap package containing a variety of things including but not limited to 2 dream musume towels (and a keychain)

and the guy in front of me in my Japanese class (granted it's a Japanese class, but still it's very rare these days that people would know..) "Oh, Dream Musume. They are like comfortable old slippers that you like putting back on."

So I discovered he was an H!P fan.

Also the dorimusu quote was sort of gold lol.

I could probably think of others..

It's definitely a cute quote, especially since he gave it off the cuff like that. But wait...you were opening your mail in class?
Or, you purposefully brought DMM towels to class with you? :lol:

Nah i was totally opening my mail in class. I mean I left my house to go to class and a huge package was there so I was curious what was in it again, so I just brought it with me and opened it during the break.

I once saw AKB48 Puucho's in London but in Edinburgh we have Japanese Restaurants but they are owned by Chinese families. Other than anime and theatre during the festival I don't even encounter the most tame Japanese references let alone H!P :( I do learn a little about Cpop and HK cinema in my every day life sometimes.
I used to have a Tumblr about Idols...
