Either these old ears of mine are going deef, or that is by far BY FAR the best Berryz single in terms of vocal proficiency. Finally they have caught up to actually being able to sing one of the top notch songs Tsunku keeps throwing their way.
That's a good point, but even disregarding the dramatic parts entirely, I mean that the normal verses are sung in an entirely competent manner. I don't find myself slightly cringing at the sound of Yurina's/Captain's/Risako's/Maasa's/Chinami's voices any longer.
I think it sounds fantastic. I wish they had had this in their pocket at Sakura-Con. And did I not predict that Captain would bring it? Alright, Captain and Momo but I'm fine with that. Big fan of the dramatic high note endings on what were otherwise normal lines of the chorus throughout most of the song. I love crap like that.
I like the covers! B is my least favorite, because the girls aren't all in the EXACT SAME POSE quite as accurately as I'd like for them to be. It's weird, I feel like I've seen that many times from H!P. Like, the girls are clearly supposed to all be striking the exact same pose, right? But from the execution, it certainly doesn't look like they were coached or manipulated by a stage hand, or had the pics all compared back-to-back in the studio or anything. And I get that there's a certain amount of "showing their own personality" within H!P, but with all of the "same pose" shots it honestly just looks like the photographer said, "Put your hand on your hip and look to the side!" and that was the extent of the coaching. Which kinda results in... messiness and mediocrity.
^ I don't care so much about the uniformity of the posing but individual shots in separate windows put together to make a cover are usually my last choice when buying singles.
I like the regular and C.
I just realized while checking out these covers on helloproject.com that Berryz's Limited Cs don't come with a DVD (or much of anything but those event serial card thingys). Knowing this I'd go with A if making my choice based on the covers but would probably default to whichever one had the Dance Shot version of the PV as I usually opt to buy those over Close-Ups.
