I made rolled-up lasagna last week. It was delicious, but next time, I'll just make regular lasagna. It took too long to make those. XD

I've wanted to try baking, but I fear I'd get fatter than I already am. :| Btw boins, those biscuits sound and look delicious.

A note about that cake--do not substitute "semi-sweet chocolate" for "chocolate"--you'll wind up with a relatively thin, somewhat bitter cake. Might be delicious sandwiched in the center of a layer cake, or with vanilla ice cream or something, but not remarkable on its own. :hehe:

Really? I just used Cadbury's since it was the first I could find in the cornor shop but I think British chocolate is less sweet than stuff like Hershy's.

I really wanna make this cake. I can't stop thinking about it... But I don't have a electric mixer and I don't wanna hand whip meringue...

Edit.
I found a legit cake mixer in the apartment subletting (it's not creepy because I'm subletting from a friend, lol) so I used it to make the meringue. I also didn't have a cake pan so I'm making cupcakes. Lol. They're in my convection toaster oven right now. I'm so excited!!!

P.s. Even with a mixer, meringue is a bitch to make. This is why I detest baking.

Edit2.
I feel like I'll be posting in this thread a lot. But I made the cupcakes and they turned out yummy. I also made a citrus slaw with chicken for lunch. It's all in my blog. Lol.

^ A couple tricks I learned from a Japanese cooking show was to
1) use day-old/cold rice
2) soak the rice in scrambled eggs

That way you get flakey Chinese style fried rice. I've done it a couple times like that and it works more than it does. The last one was to use a wok, if you have one.

Also, the real reason I came here:
"It's FoodieAmbitions, I took a little time out
Took a vacation but boys (and girls), I'm back.
Pardon the interruption but we got a news flash
Someone in the buildin' said FoodieAmbition's back"

http://foodieambitions.blogspot.com/

Things that I have posted recently:
Curry beef empanadas,
Red beans and rice
Deconstructed chili
Shrimp and Potatoes Au Gratin

And more to come but I gotta sleep early today 'cause I work super early tomorrow.

And sing the part about me being back along to Amerie's "Heard 'Em All"
Lol.

I wanted to break away from the usual toaster waffles breakfast and attempted to make french toast today. :hehe:

I did forgot to add milk to the recipe, but it ending up okay. I also didn't really listed the recipies, so I'll just add what i used:
*fat/cholesterol-free eggs
*powder cinnamon
*splenda packs
*whole wheat bread
*regular butter

I topped it off with sugar free pancake syrup.

I need to keep trying until it get it right. XD But I really wanted to make it my way (aka "not gonna kill me later" way).
