I'm sure that there would be no problem with you talking to her in English privately.
And if you normally bring your laptop (presumably to goof off on, or...?) and have no issues with the class that way, perhaps just continue on that way?

I agree. Perhaps if you meet with her privately and then tell her that it's easier for you to articulate yourself in English and begin the conversation that way, perhaps you can keep from offending her or something.

Yeah I usually bring my laptop to note down stuff while working on stuff for other classes and or just doing random stuff..

And yeah I suppose it might be a good idea. I'll try that if I ever have to communicate with her again.

Last day of Monday/Wednesday classes. Last day of hilarious quotes:

Spoiler: show
"Try to play 'San Andreas' by any means necessary. Be Malcolm X about it."

"I mean, 'motherfuck death row' is pretty unambiguous."

Student: "How did he get AIDS?"
Professor: "How do you think he got AIDS?"

"How many of you guys can honestly say that they can you can delete your Facebook right now? *a few students raise hands* It's like heroin! You guys are Amy Winehouse-ing it with Facebook!"

"My status updates make me seem like some devil-may-care international spy, but I'm just at home reading Dracula. But I'm not going to post a picture of myself with my Bram Stoker book in my bathtub with a rubber duck floating by. Have you guys ever read Dracula? It's so boring. Really, it sucks."

Now to actual school issues. Finals week. I'm working and I have 8 papers to write.

I have three papers for my ethics class, one for my Japanese ethics class (but it's like the length of all three of the former's combined), three for my performance class (+ a performance), and one for my religion and political conflict in south asia class.

._.

Thank you, my dear! Did two this morning xD SIX TO GO.

I'll probably have 2/3 of my ethics done by tomorrow (hopefully) so I can go see my professor before.

I love him and all, and I feel bad for taking up his very limited time, but I need an A in his class, and because these are assignments are so late in the quarter, the only way I can insure an A is if I go to him and make sure I'm doing everything perfectly. xD

But I'm going to try to not go if I can, because I think he really wants to try helping other students first.

Although, I mean, if they're not at his office hours then I might as well go xD

a 9% tuition hike for cal state colleges in California has passed and students are outraged and violence erupted

comparison
in 2001 - $1600
in 2012 - almost $6000

With average mandatory campus fees added on, the cost of attendance will rise to $7,017 per year, not including books and housing.

Wow... that's almost as expensive as my school and we're private :/ I mean I know California's state schools are great, but that's ridiculous...
