I DON'T WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL.

It's still about 20 days away and I was kind of antsy to go back earlier this month, but I'm just getting stressed thinking about it XD

Researching grad schools is the most terrifying thing ever.

Bakajo Nono wrote:I bumped into my favorite professor yesterday! <3 I had him this winter for my Karl Marx class. (He's actually friends with one of the professors I have this quarter. I was wondering why their assignments seemed so similar xD). He told me I should try out the International Studies major.

I was always interested in it, and the cross-culture communication concentration was what I was always interested in when I took up journalism. The reason I didn't switch to it earlier was because at the beginning of his class this winter, he told us all that International Studies was the hardest major at DePaul and that most of the students in it dropped it xD;;; but he's seen my work and he told me I'd like it and that I could handle it.

Although he doesn't know that I spent hours and hours and sleepless nights on his papers xD;

But I mean that's what I expected from college.

I'm really excited, though.

AW.

The post from the day I decided to switch to INT! How crazy x3 I'm so involved and in love with my major now that it feels like I've been in it forever XD

I'm really excited for the rest of the year~ I've scheduled my classes for next quarter and they're seriously amazing. Well four of them are. The fifth one is intro to microecon which is just kind of lame xD And I won't be working or interning so I can focus all my energies on my health and my education.

I bought an ACT prep book that I'll probably study after holidays. I'm already nervous, lol.
I don't test well, and even if I get a good score on the actual thing, I feel like it's a waste because I probably won't go to college anyway.

Is it more a financial issue? I can help look for places with financial aid/scholarships. :fear: You might be able to waive application fees as well.

What would you be interested in studying?

Yeah, my parents are already in debt, adding to that would make me feel terrible. :lol: I've been considering psychology or political science. :)

Yeah, that's a difficult situation, although I think it'd be a good idea to do research on the schools around there (community colleges tend to be cheaper + the classes also tend to be smaller, which is good because I personally hate huge lectures xD) and the financial aid/scholarships available. Sometimes you can pay tuition for the semester in increments throughout the semester as well.

It could be a good idea to take at least a year off to work first too. It's really not necessary to just jump in right after high school. :)
