Shinoda Mariko just announced her graduation at the AKB48 senbatsu election.
This was really unexpected. More news to come. She is still live talking making the announcement and my Japanese isn't that good.
EDIT:
Shinoda Mariko will be graduating on July 21st at the end of the Dome Concert in Fukuoka (her hometown).
That's really short notice for such a popular/old time member.

I'm actually happy with this graduation since I'm over AKB and my other fave (tomochin) is graduating soon. Really hope she gets to release at least one single or something Plastic no Kuchibiru was so good.

Yesterday my boyfriend asked "Who do you think will collect her fans..?" and I sort of didn't know what to answer but then I blurted out "Sayanee" and somehow it felt like it made sense.

^ She's definitely cute, but I'll admit that I had to look her up to find out who you were talking about. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to members of the NMB, SKE, ETC groups.

Graduation date confirmed for July 22nd. Her graduation ceremony, however, will be at Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome.

Seems like a pretty out-of-the-way place to have a graduation, but since she's from Fukuoka, it makes sense.
