It's an idea, at least. I think a lot of JPM-ers just go to other varioius forums anyway (the island comes to mind), but for those who always forget the damn address to the other ones, this could be useful, I suppose~ ^^
It's sad that it keeps going down, though. :ugeek:

Thanks for stopping by boinsie. I like the island but it's not the same kind of place as JPM and has much different expectations of its posters. You have to keep up with a certain level of wit and repartee to feel at home there. I don't think they even WANT the average JPMember to join their clique. :D

This is only just an experiment. It may not work but as I stated previouswise, I hope it doesn't have to work. Plus, I hate moderating and the like. I hope JPM can go back to being the way it was before. Upgrading to phpBB3 would be a good start.

I wish that I knew forums and stuff better (read: at ALL), so that I could understand exactly (or at least vaguely) wtf is wrong with JPM. I understand that it has a lot of visitors, and that it's probably too much of a load for their servers at times... but that doesn't explain missing posts, "this page doesn't exist" bugs from foreign characters, or that ~massive~ bug thatthat resulted in having auto-censoring turned off as a neccessity to fix. Just seems like they could do a massive overhaul of the system... hell, delete eveything, restart with a brand new board (since all old threads are deleted after a month or so anyway, and important, long-lived ones could be preserved... the forum could be locked, for example, for posterity/future reference).
It does kinda just seem like hte head-ups at the board just don't feel like fixing it. Which I understand; they created it years ago, and things change in people's lives, but... it's still a shame to let such a huge meeting place go down the toilet. :(

What's the policy on file-sharing here? I know we all have our own resources to get stuff, but it'd be cool if people could share things with each other.

The present policy as I understand it is that you can post singular mp3s, concert rips, etc, in the main forum (just like at JPM), and all other downloadables are to be but in the "Boingy" sub-forum (which is members-only, so it should cut down on unnecessary traffic).

Will the second page of Morning Musume subforum eat the topics here too? I think it should be set with that purpose. So we can actually feel home, and actually hurry up in bumping too old threads from there.

Why and who are those people who are currently listed as "online" at the bottom of the main page with the greyed-out names which cannot be clicked on?
