Well it is a very big city. At this point I wanna see AKS's books because I wonder how HKT and any other new group will keep making money if AKB stops being popular. I could see NMB and SKE surviving but now even I think maybe they wanna slow done with the groups lol.

Then again AKB is a franchise isn't it? So as long as their are companies willing to fund new groups I guess they will keep coming.

If AKB stops being as popular as they are now, they will probably still be making money, all things considered. I mean I don't know how many CDs they need to sell to be profitable but it probably is far, far below what even HKT sells.

AKB, SKE and I think HKT are managed by AKS, whereas NMB is a franchise.That's what I seem to remember having read though I can't seem to find any info.

Plans to create SPR48 denied by management, saying they are hoping to increase the fanbase in Hokkaidou enough to one day be able to have such plans.

It did feel a little early, I was thinking they'd form team KIV first.

Where would KIV be? Kyoto? Kanagawa? Kouchi?

Team KIV (K4) would be HKT48's second team (After AKB48's team K, SKE48's team KII and JKT48's team KIII)

"Ex-AKB48 member Risa Naruse to make her AV debut"

Yet another former member of the wildly popular idol group AKB48 will debut in porn, reports Shukan Jitsuwa (Sept. 26).
On October 1, AV label Muteki is scheduled to release “National Idol,” which stars Haruna Aisaka. The magazine says the actress in the film is 20-year-old Risa Naruse, who joined AKB48 in 2007 and departed two years later due to health-related problems.

Naruse is the third ex-member of the group to enter the porn industry. In February, Eri Takamatsu adopted the name Risa Tachibana for her debut release on Soft On Demand Create. She starred in a total of six films before retiring.
Three years ago, Rina Nakanishi appeared began her career as Riko Yamaguchi. She appeared in a total 15 films for labels Alice Japan SOD.

When you go though as many girls as AKB does this isn't surprising but it's still sad It's a living.

It is. Hopefully it is her own choice and she is comfortable with it and doing it for the right reasons.

Late but, idk. Remember when news came out that MM/H!P wasn't profitable/in the green until they broke 1million with Love Machine? And I thought they were doing pretty well prior to that, selling a steady 250k with each release.

Now, if other groups are taking funding from the main AKB franchise, then it's probably all good and a sustainable business model. But if HKT were on it's own, with the number of members involved, and the amount of production and work that goes into the group, just breaking 200k probably wouldn't cut it. I mean, I thought SDN was alright selling 50k and that they could just get support from AKB, but they still went under lol

They're probably alright though, since as you stated AKB SKE and HKT are affiliated lol. And they seem to have better business planning than H!P did in the 90s lol
