I don't understand why the last single sold less than the previous one, it's a very good single.

I guess it really depends on people’s taste, personally I liked Ima Nanji but found DanshaISM a bit boring, but that’s just my opinion among millions. I actually watched a couple of ranking videos that ranked either DanshaISM or Ima Nanji in the bottom. whilst Dakishimerete Mitai/ Ishiki Takai was ranked higher.

I also liked Ima Nanji more and although DanshaISM also did not tell me much at first, but I think there is a lot of difference in sales, 81,000 from the 6th single to almost 38,000 from this one.
Not that I was saying that the latter had the same or higher sales, that it would be good for the group, that they deserve it, it is the difference between the two, but perhaps it will surprise me and it is not so bad.
It will be for many factors, that they have not sold so much.

FWIW Ishiki Takai[...] was released before a pandemic was declared, so that's definitely a huge factor.

Yes, it is a factor to take into account. I hope the next single they release with the new lineup will go up a lot in sales, it would be very good for the group.

As others have pointed out the pandemic, in addition I think there are a few other factors-

1) The previous single had the benefit of riding Teionyakedo with Dakishimeraretai being a stylistic (and I believe explicit) sequel.
2) Ogata's scandal occured a week after the release that certainly affected the ability to promote this thoroughly and cut off it's long term legs a bit.

It's true, I didn't realize that the Ogata Risa scandal happened at that time.
That would explain a lot.
