Plate tectonics makes all continental identities at least somewhat approximate, so it might even be accurate. XD

If I ever stumble across that place, I'll buy two of 'em and send you one. Because yeah, I want one, too!

I really wanted to score a lot of Engrish t-shirts on my various trips to Japan, but nearly all of the good ones that I saw were too expensive and/or too small. There was a boutique in Odaiba that had t-shirts inscribed in similarly mangled German, but they were way too rich for my blood. Fortunately I found similar notebooks at a ¥100 shop.

I bought this great IQ Sapuri shirt for ¥2310 in the Fuji TV gift shop, partly because I loved that show and watched it regularly and partly because of the hilarious inscription. Sadly, it's a bit too snug to be comfortable.

Getting angry or upset about something on the internet seems very one sided. Years ago I’d be angry at someone and write long essays about why they were wrong and it would just get me even more heated up. It wasn’t healthy. I was depressed, angry, sad and upset. One day I was like, screw that. Let people express themselves how they want. It may be an unpopular opinion but it’s their opinion. I mean if it’s really off the wall I’ll throw something out there because I mean, I still have a line. But it’s more of a, pick and choose your battles. Some, things are just not worth stressing over.

I think that being online has actually helped me to let a lot of things go, in terms of opinions and arguments, or at least to sort out the things that actually need (or could benefit from) an argument or response from me (and there aren't many of those) from the very large number of things where it's just not going to make much difference. And the continual stream of noise, disinformation, misinformation, trolling, trivia, and things-that-may-or-may-not-be-real has also forced me to differentiate between the small set of things that matter to me on a personal level and the much larger set of things that are interesting, but not necessarily that important to me personally. There's just too much to react to, and too many of the ways in which one could react are pointless.

The correct response to people making fun of you/the things you like on the internet is to go "Yeah you're right". I know I suck, I know my opinions are bad... but so are everyone else's. It's the internet, after all.

I just figure that my tastes in a lot of things are so indefensible that all I can say is, "I don't even understand why I like it, but I might as well go along and see where it leads me."
(Which is basically true, much of the time.)

I got another raise at work and I’m pretty stoked about it. While I know at the end of the year I’ll probably owe taxes with all this new income, at least my debts will now be paid off faster. I’m going to take my fathers advice and take whatever raise funds I got and throw them into savings and ignore them for awhile till I can build up enough money in the bank. Hopefully I don’t blow it this time. I tried it once before but then something came up and it failed miserably. I’m still getting use to the fact I only get paid every other week. It’s been a very big learning curve for me.

I got my computer back! The old battery was swollen to about three times its normal width.
