I think its just because of the saturation from the photo Denki posted, since it doesn't look as bad in the photo Amped posted.
Still I would've preferred a normal split screen type cover.

It's not because of the coloring, it's just the covers themselves. They look like what might happen if they decided to put Station out on DVD.

I guess the blew their entire budget on the MVs and were like, oops I guess we forgot we need cover art!
It’s called BALANCE, Up-Front. You need to learn to balance your budget better. The average buyer who has no clue, is more apt to buy something with an interesting cover instead of a cover like what you threw together.
Also, can I say what a missed opportunity this was? They could have done something like Morning Musume’s Kono Chikyuu no Heiwa wo Honki de Negatterun da yo! and Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai! in cover and music videos.
