I wonder if that persona will continue or if she'll adopt a cooler attitude.

Not that it matters but I'm a westerner that couldn't stand Riho (up until just before she graduated) yet really really likes Chisaki and admires their similar appearance. I'm doubtful I'll start to dislike her even if she becomes a line-hog and gets 5 photobooks before a backgirl senpai gets their first.

Morito Chisaki does not understand why there are so many more girls in Country Musume now.

new announcement regarding Ichioka Reina, Takase Kurumi, and Kiyono Momohime situation :

They will form two different Hello! Project groups in the future. The groups will have different forms of activities that is different from a conventional idol group. Ichioka Reina is the leader of new Hello! Project group. In addition to becoming a group that improves with singing and dancing, they aim to be a "performance" group with body expression.

Takase Kurumi and Kiyono Momohime will be in a new Hello! Project group with song and dance with expressive power. It will be also a group with elements of theater (drama, comedy). They want to form a group with an image of a "small theater troupe" by adding new members to join them.

The new groups will begin activities this Summer to Fall. They also plan to have both groups have joint activities. They hope you can just wait a little longer.

So what have they been doing for the past year? :hmmm:

Well, at least there's news. And it seems they've reinterpreted the vague 'theater division' to 'a group with an image of a small theater troupe'.

Planning? Waiting for talent to bloom in Spring? Waiting for free agent idols to graduate local idol groups?

Hello! Project is about have 8 groups soon.

Planning seems likely. I don't think any of us really know how much time it takes behind the scenes to plan/budget for new groups (and auditions), and I imagine new staff (managers) that will have to be or have been hired. We probably wouldn't have even known about any of this for a few more months had it not been for that seemingly unplanned announcement at the Kenshuusei Test.

So who'll be the Berryz and who'll be the °C-ute of these two new groups? :fear:

well, the theater group probably isn't going to be either of them. Berryz and C-ute are not theater focused groups.

They also waited probably because Tsubaki Factory has so much momentum right now. That wouldn't be fair to start a new group when Tsubaki is still new themselves.

To be fair, last fall UF did have to deal with Kobushi breaking down so debuting/proceeding with/showing the intention to start new groups when a recent one is already falling apart wouldn't look very well and probably be difficult to manage. /shrug
