How unfortunate, she was one of my favorites. I do hope it was what she wanted and I hope the group itself isn't hurt too badly by her leaving. It will be interesting to see them without her in their upcoming TV performance.

Supervisor Satoda Mai. She is very surprised of the company's decision.

On this occasion、 the office contacted me to inform that Country Girls member Shimamura Uta-chan was withdrawing from the group、 which was truly surprising。

Since Country Girls have only just started、 it truly is a pity。

The loss of members is something I’ll never get used to。
It’s sad to part。

However, I believe that this is a decision that came at the end of a lot of thought by herself and her family, so we could not refuse it。

And for the current 5 members、 I’d like them to work even harder!

Everyone、 I beg for your kind, continued support for Country Girls!

I have an announcement for everyone。

As of today
Shimamura Uta has withdrawn
From Country Girls
As well as Hello! Project。

We truly apologize
For the disturbance
Caused by this sudden announcement。

Honestly、
I still can’t accept the reality
And I’m filled with feelings of
Sadness and frustration。

I have completely no idea
How to express
My current feelings in words。

I met Uta-chan
In autumn last year
And we’ve been active together。

It might have been a short while
But the 6 members of Country Girls
Experienced a lot of things、
And made lots of memories。

「Momochi-senpai
Is a senior I look up to!」

When she said that
I replied with a blank face
‘Lip service out of embarrassment?’
But it made me really happy。

However、
After singing and dancing on-stage
Being told
「Ahー! That was so much fun!!」
With your eyes sparkling
Made me happier than anything。

From now on
Uta-chan will be
Advancing down a separate path、
But I think this is the answer
Uta-chan came up with
After discussing it with her family and worrying over it、
So I think I’d like to support Uta-chan
From now on。

And、 from now on
Country Girls will be active
With 5 people
Together with Satoda Mai-san
We’d like to do our best
With everything we’ve got。

Everyone、 from now on as well
We beg for your
Warm, kind support。

We really don't need to have it again, not without actual information to support it. Speculation is boring enough, recycled speculation is even worse.

It's not really necessary to police the conversation to that extent. Clearly nobody here knows exactly what happened. Yet obviously some people are upset by the turn of events and some of those people are dealing with that by speculating as to the cause. Since this is stunning news it's not just random gossip but an attempt to attach meaning to something which in to some degree tragic. You may find such speculation "boring" but some people seem to find it cathartic.

Celedam wrote:As far as I'm concerned, that's just another spin on arguing about subjective preferences as if they're objective facts.

OK, well let's make that clear then. NOBODY KNOWS FOR SURE WHY SHE QUIT other than that it was a contract dispute. With that in mind, if people want to advance their own pet hypotheses, that is something that is going to be allowed.

Fine, it's your place, but I will never understand that way of thinking. Making up shit about real people seems not only dangerous to whomever is making it up (because you start to believe it) but also incredibly rude to whomever it's about (because their life is not your plaything).

Of course, I'm also the one who thinks that once an idol leaves the business, continuing to hunt for private photos of her is tantamount to stalking. I guess I'm just silly that way.

All 4 of them were shocked about the announcement. Ozeki probably took the worst hit from it.

Dan-chii from H!O already translated Risa and Manaka's blog post, although they're not the best.

As I believe my acquaintances are also here,
Our member, Shimamura Uta-chan has withdrawn from Hello Project as well as Country Girls.
The report was so unexpected, I didn't think I could accept it.
So I have also not been able to come to terms with this.
I just can't believe I have to say goodbye to this quickly, and this unexpectedly...
It's so sad, and so lonesome.
To have to say goodbye to someone who has had the same ambition, is something that's absolutely too sad no matter how it happens.
Uta was truly like a little sister to me, I thought that with her it felt like this is what it would be like to have a younger sister huuh...
Even though I thought her earnest figure was always so cute and was being acheived with her utmost effort, I was embarassingly unable to stomach that she could possibly just be like that.
Why wasn't I able to tell that to her... I was thinking about that though
Still, I think I was able to convey that to her at least a little when we were together.
It would be good if it was like that, huh.
I had written some things like this, but
I didn't think that it would be during a final farewell, ne.
It has been about half a year since I met her for the first time, and about 3 months since I started performing with her in a group of 6.
The numbers suggest that that it must have felt like a really short time, but every day I spent with everyone together was so enriching, that I have so many good memories from this time.
I have so many memories with Uta.
We became a really close group of 6, so that every time we met it always brought smiles to our faces.
But, instead of being too nostalgic about a time that has now past, I want to keep those memories healthy and continue to do well in my future activities.
Uta won't be able to continue down the same road as we are, but
I hope that Uta will be able to take her life down a special pathway.
We will be continuing from here on as Country Girls, so
It would be great if you continue to watch over us.
There are people here who love Uta, but also want to continue supporting Country Girls, huh.
There are people here who are wondering if Country Girls will be okay continuing on from here as a group of 5, huh.
I also, as yet, have so much anxiety over this.
A Country Girls without Uta will henceforth be ascending.
However, I want to shamelessly continue to do my very best for everyone who has supported us up until now so,
so that everyone will continue to love Coutnry Girls more and more, I want to put forth a great effort.
I will never forget Country Girls as a group of 6.
However, from here on Country Girls, as a group of 6, will be continuing on so that more people will be able to like us.
with a feeling of looking forward, we want to do our very best.
Country Girls started just so ercently.
We have climbed over so many obstacles,
and from all sorts of different places, in order to continue to be a Hello! Project group that people will love, we will do our very best.
Because what's obvious is obvious.
Moving onward, as long as you continue to be around me, people,
I have so much gratitude I don't want to forget to express.

Spoiler: show
Good evening!
Although it has become known among everyone...
Yesterday, in view of the day having reached June 12th
Country Girls's Shimamura Uta-chan withdrew from both Country Girls and Hello Project.
It was really sudden, so
I was so astonished about it.
And simultaneously, I think that
I was so shocked to hear about it.
I am personally,
feeling so lonely,
and it is so so regrettable.
With Uta, since we became Country GIrls,
It has been approximately half a year since
we dashed forward together.
We mutually had so many first times together
and so much anxiety among other things
had conflicted us (at the time).
However the 5 of us (from before) joined forces,
after which Momochi-senpai also joined us, and
together we went all-out in starting our activities.
As a group of 6 we came out and did our best
for these several months
we were able to make so many memories.
They were mostly truly wonderful memories.
Manaka has been, for these several months
having so many feelings
of being happy.
During that time, inside that landscape,
the members were always
together with Uta.
Uta is soo cute
She is someone who is so unstoppable
and kind...
To Country Girls
she was an indispensable being.
It's true that even now I am still
so very lonely, so
At the times when I am remembering so many things
the tears are coming out
For everyone who has supported us thus far
for the sake of us,
For this reason at this time
as we must continue to do our best
we want to become stronger.
Once again, we are back to square one.
It's that kind of feeling, but
Right now I am not sure myself what I can do
I am often hoping that I will seriously do my best.
We were a team of 6 Country Girls
But now, we must support Uta-chan
To everyone,
I think it is quite inexcusable...
With every meeting, there is eventually a parting
and with every beginning, there is eventually an ending.
I think it is a very sad thing, but
because of that, naturally,
with every day that is coming,
I think that it is instinctively natural
for us to cherish every moment,
pass the time, and not leave it
is something I think just can't be helped.
Uta will be walking down a different path from us
it has become that way, but
Up until now, I will never forget
how we were able to keep at it together.
From here on and to the other side, no matter what
kind of things we face, the reality is
not going to change.
Uta's pathway, to Uta
has been looked at firmly beforehand
and I think she wants to walk down that path.
Please support her..! ( ¨̮ )
Uta.
I love you.
Thank you so much for everything up until now (._.)♡
Moving forward, Country Girls is
going to be putting forth their best effort as a group of 5.
Moving forward, if you will be able to
continue to look over us warmly, it would make me very happy.
Everyone, for your support
I am looking forward to it!!!

The blog entries are heartbreaking. I can't stop thinking it wasn't Utachan's decision. No one saw it coming and the members only mention her happiness and ambition. Nothing about worries, studies or health issues.

Whether she was happy with being an idol or not, she'd be sacrificing some things by continuing, like being able to have a normal life with her friends and family. Being an idol seems like something that'd be incredible to experience (for girls her age), and it's great that she got to experience that, but at the end of the day it's a serious job and you have to think about whether that's what you really want in life.
