I did may share and bought 2 copies. It had to come with something extra of course, so 2 handshakes seemed reasonable.

The event today in Hiroshima before the H!P concert which starts in a couple of hours had a reasonable turnout. I guess that 500 handshake tickets were sold. And afterwards they continued selling the single for signed posters.

I was a bit nervous before the handshake because it was the 1st time since 20 April 2008 that I would be face to face to MaiMai again. People with a good memory will know that that day was the Berryz Kamen vs. Cutie Rangers concert in the Yokohama Arena. In the last concert I had a front row seat to the round corridor of the stage. As everyone was walking past at some point in the concert I got some nice smiles, especially from Risako-chan. But there was 1 girl that just stopped and just stared blankly at me for a couple of seconds which seemed like eternity. That girl was, you have already guessed it, Hagiwara Mai, AKA MaiMai. Since then I have always been scared of here, she just give me the shivers when I see here.

So here was the 1st time since that moment that this could be changed, how would she react when she would see me. It would have been best for the story if she would have been last in line, but she was 2nd after Saki, (3rd Chisato, 4rd Maimi, 5th Airi). So Saki was all smiles, "thank you, nice to see you" etc etc. But then came MaiMai, and you bitch you, she did it again. Not even a hint of a smile or some other reaction that she was surprised to see a tall foreigner with long blond hair who hasn't shaved in over a week in Hiroshima. Just the standard reaction.... well I don't remember her saying anything at all. Luckily Chisate came next, as expected from here she's all smiles and without hesitation starts to say something simple in English to you. Same for Maimi and especially Airi who cannot not smile. (I had my Budokan S/mileage Ayaka "No Smile, No Life." t-shirt on btw).

After the 1st handshake I hopes Maimai would react differently the 2nd time I went round. It's pointless to make the story more exiting then it actually is, she didn't do anything differently.

So, this pretty much means that nothing has changed, Maimai is still my "Ichiban Kowai" in Hello! Project.


Now it's time for some lunch before going back to the venue. It's quite handy that the hotel is about a 3 minutes walk from the concert hall, and I didn't even pick it on that basis.


ps. I got the Maimi and Maimai trading cards (she did smile for that picture).

This doesn't surprise me for whatever reason. Even in the BeriKyuu in Paris footage Maimai seems the most... Uncomfortable? For a lack of a better word. And in Paris she had to have known there would be a bunch of blonde blue eyed fans.
