I dont see Miki as another Ayumi/Riho, but rather another Sakura just from their vibes lol.

Watching the training camp footage she really reminded me of Sakura. Just how she was acing through it.
I think there's a lot of vocal potential if you consider how squeaky and pitchy Masaki was when she auditioned too.

They're all kinda in their own way a "mirai shoujo" lmao.

Miki has 10 years of dancing skills. That's why I say I expect to see Riho/Ayumi/Miki things from now on, a new dance trio etc.

I see a lot of potential as well. I just don't like what I hear so far. Unfortunately not everyone is "a Masaki" :b But here's hoping, for the better of the group.

Hopefully, Miki will turn out more like Sakura than Masaki. Masaki's still just an okay singer who has a lot of painful singing moments. I want singers that I can show to my sisters without them giving me funny looks, lol.

This is a pretty weak gen vocally. But they're all super cute and it looks like several of them might have awesome personalities, so I guess I'm okay with it. I'm really sad that Oharu can't sing, though. She would've been my favorite if she could.

Really happy that we finally got to see some audition footage! ^^

I think Miki is adorable and I was pleasantly surprised by her singing even if it is a bit nasal.
Ogata is not my type at all so I'm kind of bland towards her..
Akane and Maria are both really cute but since I don't follow the KSS I really don't have any impression of them yet (except I remember liking Maria when she auditioned for MM before).

But I think I'll wait until next week before I pick my favorite from this gen.

I think I can see why they were both chosen. Miki's very willing to put herself up front and give 150% to everything, and she's got some strong basic talent to go along with her self-confidence and built-in charisma. Haruna's kind of shy and retiring (particularly in comparison with Miki), but with everything she did, I kept thinking, "She's definitely teachable -- she'll learn, she'll pick it up, and she'll develop the confidence she needs." I don't think it'll take too much for her to do that, either.
And Haruna's smile reminds me a bit of Riho's -- now I want to see them in a smirking contest. XD

To this day, I feel like people put too much of an emphasis on talent -- especially with brand new members. Imo the point of MM。is that it's a group for girls who are unpolished to improve over the years and have their potential brought out. Sometimes they don't reach max potential, but they all leave the group leagues better than when they started. Pick any member, they've improved a hell of a lot since they joined. Even girls who didn't spend that much time in the group, like, say, Asuka.

Plus, I've said this before and I'll keep saying it, but if you want super talented performers in the first place then idols aren't really what you're looking for. Yes, the girls now are good, and I'm not saying H!P members are bad performers (some are a bit behind, like Haruna, but they're still not bad at all), but still. Idols are more than their singing ability. Although I'm sure most people on here realise that.

I guess... my lack of caring about idol talents shows given some of my oshis (*cough* Konkon *cough*), but I do appreciate idols who are talented. It really depends on the whole package for me, though.

Basically, I don't care if Ogata can't sing yet. She's still really fucking cute and I'm sure she'll come out of her shell as time goes on. Even if I'm one of the few who ends up loving her to bits, I'm okay with that. I'm used to liking idols who nobody else really cares about all that much.

Ogata is definitely the unpolished one of the group, there's always one though.

Miki is a good singer, I'm not sure what some of you are hearing... she's just nasally, you can tell she has an innate untrained talent.

^^

I disagree to an extent.

HP has been selling this brand of idols that are marketed as being performers and whatnot that fans both new and old tend to be more concerned about their talent.

But they're not necessarily fans of the idol for specifically being talented. Idols don't have to be unpolished either, but they're targeted to be likeable for a reason.
