I feel this is a multilayered announcement so I'm not even going begin to focus on one possibility and just keep it open to multiple.

But I could see him adding in new girls (trainees) with out auditions. That would be sure to rustle some feathers for sure. But I feel like that's such an obvious answer.

The other is him handing over production duties to someone else while he's MIA.

Another unlikely prediction:

Tsunku announces that Morning Musume will have a new rival group: Future Girls, a group consisting of the KSS who were in the gen 12 audition plus selected other KKS girls.

Maybe audition + he'll start having not every member appearing in each singles?

wouldn't make much sense with the formation dance thing though.

i'm sure it's not "just a cm deal" because the part about being afraid to announce it and being afraid fans would not accept it would make no sense at all.

Adding to the Future Girls idea: The group will be associated with a new fashion magazine of the same name. The group will apprentice at the magazine, writing columns, modeling, participating in editorial decisions, etc. The idea would be that by the time the idol group had run it's course the girls would be well set up for a post idol singer career.

- Morning Musume. 14's message for the Sochi Olympics
- au announcing its new mobile phones at the au presentation 2014 Spring

*it is unlikely a graduation or a sad announcement. it will have a negative impact on these.

- a turning point for Morning Musume. '14 and a challenge for himself
- a chance for Morning Musume. '14 to become a big star

*it might not just be a simple CM announcement.

Whatever it is it sure will made the new single to sell more. Otherwise he would've waited more to announce it. The tricky factor is cool though, it's like knowing the right time to gamble.
