Factoring Aina out of the old profile image would have automatically placed Karin in the center regardless, because of their positions. It's technically going to be impossible to not have someone in the middle since they have an odd number of members now.

I don't suddenly expect Karin to be singing 60% of the songs on her own or anything. She was always popular and going to be pushed in some way though, I'm positive that was going to happen no matter what.

Im a karin fan but the way they edited the photos is excessive and is what's bugging me.
C-ute's profile shots aren't even like that. She's dead center, and in front of all the other girls.

But iunno...

They put her picture at the front, but if they hadn't, some would have complained her picture looked awkward in the background behind the others. If her picture had been bigger than the rest, there would have been an actual reason to complain Karin is dominating.

^^ Yeah, I don't think it's as excessive as you're saying, maybe you're just overreacting? There's a clear front girl in all the group profiles pictures, where the girl is completely in front of the others, except in berryz (Miyabi is the dead center though)

Good morning!

I think many of you already know, Otsuka Aina-chan retired from Juice=Juice yesterday

I’m sorry for not updating yesterday
I can’t write my feelings well
so I write it over and over

Honestly, I’m really sad
because we have been working hard together as 6-members until now

Although I was writing a lot of what I think
but it became a rambling writing
so I’ll just write a little bit

Aina was able to say what she wanted right out
I am really envious
She would take me to workplace
because I am not good with looking at maps

Aina
Thank you for everything in these five months!
From now on, we will have different paths
but let's have pride in our own paths
and keep going forward, okay!

And everyone who was supporting
the 6-members Juice=Juice,
I’m sorry for making everyone worry with this sudden circumstance
From today, Juice=Juice will be 5-members
Although I'm still felling anxious now
if I still being uneasy,
everyone will get even more uneasy

So I’ll keep a strong heart, and from now on
five of us will combine our power
so we will be able to grow even more!

Romance no Tochuu,
Please look forward to it
(Song that) only five of us can show it
(Song that) full of goodness of five of us
I want to make a debut song like that

Everyone
Good afternoon

This is Kanatomo aka Kanazawa Tomoko
Probably some of you already know,
But I think there are people who haven't known yet

Yesterday (7/5), Otsuka Aina-chan
had retired
from Juice=Juice,
and also H!P kenshusei

From now on, Aina will walk in her own path

We had been working together until now
I feel like we are not just a friend

Until now, thank you very much !!!

In front of everyone,
Aina said goodbye
because there won't be any chance again

We also regret it

And then, Aina

For Aina's sake
everyone please keep support her

We will continue to work hard
as 5-members Juice=Juice from now on

Major debut had already decided
This is such an important time

With this sudden announcement
It surely confused a lot of people
We apologize for the incovenience

truly sorry

But I will never feel sad
because this is not farewell

From now on,
I think we will show a new appearance

We will also support Aina

Even if we become 5,
Our feeling are still 6

It seems hard for Juice=Juice
but we will keep moving forward

So everyone, in the future
please always treat us well

well then, this is Kanazawa Tomoko !!

It was announced yesterday that Otsuka Aina-chan had retired from Juice=Juice
Comparing when we were in H!P Kenshusei, my time to be together with Otsuka-chan had increased after we were chosen into Juice=Juice,
and I thought I had talked a lot with Otsuka-chan since then,
I'm happy to know Otsuka-chan
For me, Otsuka-chan is kouhai, member and also rival
Thinking that we won't be able to compete with each other to level up again, I really regret it
From now on, there are 5 members in Juice=Juice
Even if one person was reduced, all 5 members will combine power so people won't feel that we're lacking something, we will work really hard for that
Please treat Juice=Juice well

With this, all members blog posts are on this topic. ;~;

I know this is late, but I can't believe that my little hint came true...

When Juice=Juice debuted with their indie Watashi ga Iu Mae ni Dakishimenakya ne, I was up on Hello Project Wikia looking at the group's info.
Somewhere along the lines I always read something that said "Juice=Juice is not officially an H!P unit as of yet, which means members might be added or taken out."

As the indies kept coming, I kept that sentence in mind, but I also thought "Honestly...I really don't want J=J to chance. They're perfect, just the six of them. It'd be pretty weird if they suddenly changed members..." And yeah, I was right, 6 members was awesome. It made center somewhat harder to reach for Karin because we all know she'd be center when the chance came, but as a 6 nin group it was hard because of the formations, and also the fact that Takagi was there in Watashi helping steal the spotlight, then Otsuka started to fight (metaphorically) in Samidare, and then Tomoko joined the race too by the time Ten Made showed up.

Then I left for vacation, came back in August, and news is in that she's out and the group is gonna major debut without her...
The funnier part was, throughout the vacation, i'd listen to their songs, and notice Aina more and more
"Wow, I just realized she started off every song (well, she was the first to get a solo line in all the indies)"
"Wow, her color is orange, my favorite!"
"Wow, she has a really good voice, even though some people don't like the scratchiness (or nasally, or whatever her kind of voice was called), I like it a lot!"
"Wow, she was the center along side Karin in Samidare and Ten Made"

So yeah...that's pretty much a summation of my overall reactions to her leaving. I will miss her, but Juice=Juice seems to be doing fine without her. I am noticing A TON of improvements with Miyazaki, I particularly love her in Watashi Remix. She seems to be trying a lot harder, not only in her singing, but her dancing and facial expressions. Akari, i'm so happy, she's getting a ton more screen time and they're showing her off a lot more than before. I particularly liked her in Samidare Remix, where she even ended up being the icon photo for the youtube MV. Tomoko looks and sounds amazing as usual, and Sayubi is doing well fighting for center (she alternated center with Karin in Watashi Remix and she actually had more lines than Karin in Samidare Remix). Sounds like I hate Karin, but I don't. She's great, but I don't like her being the single ace/center because this group is so amazing that I believe everyone should have a chance at it. Well, honestly, i'd stop ranting too much about center when a single comes out when Miyazaki and Uemura don't get the short end of the stick in solo lines.

And that concludes what I think of Otsuka leaving, and apparently what my thoughts are on J=J's current condition without her. I think I rambled on too much about how much better J=J members has gotten...
