Probably because she insists upon romanizing her name as "Kikkawa YOU" which in my head always sounds like 吉川用 (yoh) instead of 吉川友 (yuu), and conversely your nick in my head has always sounded like 吉川目 (mé)

Jesus, it's been mentioned before that his nickname is a pun, but I just never figured it out. orz
(I just assumed that maybe "kawame" was Japanese vocab I don't know but then I never bothered to try to look it up or anything...)

Sucks that Kikka's not feeling her oats. The soloist idol grind has to be draining, though. Here's hoping it passes, or that she otherwise feels better soon!

It'd be a shame if Yuu graduated, but I can see why she'd want to. Her music's actually starting to get more better and likeable than in the past, so I'd love for her to continue on that. She was probably just annoyed at how small her audiences have become, and maybe with some encouragement she'll feel better soon.

It's sad really. She's got a good voice, and the songs are still solid (WildStrawberry is damn good) but there's just no promotion there. At all.

It's such a waste of her talent.

I'd love to see Avex pull a Maki on her. They snatch her up and build her up slowly to the level she deserves to be at. She's too good for the way she's being handled right now.

Maki and Avex never really went anywhere though.
Sure they made a big splash at the beginnning, but then it devolved in one mini-album after the other with lackluster sales.
Cut to hiatus a few months later.

The solo idol just isn't a good gig to have anymore. It's really draining and you need to want to do all the self promo work that goes along with it. Kikka just doesn't have the mainstream appeal or the backing from her company to be anything but mediocre. If she enjoyed acting, she should do as Mano did. That's about the only way you'll get noticed by the public these days.

I keep thinking back to when she got demoted to indies on the charts and no one told her until she saw it there.

She's not even getting recent songs in karaoke anymore. I really like a lot of the recent stuff too. I always want to sing one.

Which reminds me. I need to get to a CD store ASAP to pick up this album.

not bad. slightly better than 2nd album. She did a lot of promotion and it paid off. She was promoting everywhere. Hope her new 5 major cities live tour will help.

Listening to this album, it's definitely my favorite of the 3 now, WILDSTRAWBERRY, Cosmos e no Inori, and URAHARA Temptation is like a trilogy of eargasms for sure!

I do think Planetarium is the oddball of the album...but it could just be me.
