today at the Hello! Tribe fan bar, they held an exhibition for a sculpture artist named Tohota-san. He sculpted a 32cm high Lieutenant Kiri (Sayashi Riho) from TRIANGLE

ugh another half-assed sketch; damn does anybody remember KLSADAKO from JPM? I wouldn't even know where to begin with something like that. (Bonus: Check out one of his Ueto Ayas.) :notworthy:

^ Oh wow, I forgot about KLSADAKO completely, but now that you mentioned the name I even remember what he looks like. His drawings are amazing.

I like your style a lot though because as much as I appreciate the hard work and skills behind those photograph-like drawings, I personally would not enjoy drawing that way (if you've seen my scribbles...), and the spontaneousness in some of your lines looks like it was actually fun for you to draw.

Well, I meant non-H!P stuff on Facebook, but I'll try doing something H!P related even though I have trouble drawing people. :fear:

edit: Screw the faces.

Did you just do that? That's pretty awesome...I'd find it difficult to get all their proportions right and to give the bodies a convincing weight.

Yeah, I just did it. XD I always kind of cheat and trace a little whenever I start drawing, just because I'm not good at estimating the proportions and where things are. Like I'd put the paper up to my laptop screen over the reference picture and use a pencil to lightly sketch out the main lines. It also helps me in composing the picture (like you see how everyone fits in the picture and the group is relatively centered).

Then (without the paper over the reference anymore) I sketched over the pencil lines with a pen while filling in the details. There were parts I just did spontaneously to try to match the rough lighting, texture, etc.

Just noticed that I forgot laces for most of their boots. Too lazy to re-upload the picture now though. :fear:

comments:

Zunu's - It kinda looks like a hybrid of Tsoonk and E.T... which makes you start thinking, what if E.T. was about a robot wanting to go home, but in the process made a shit-ton of awesome music for the earth to love and then before the end of the movie, because he said "e.t. phone home" so much, he had to get his voice box removed? O.o

esm's - "screw the faces" makes me wonder, can you imagine if we say music videos of just girls without faces dancing and singing? What about the closeups?

....but, both of your photos are really awesome and better than anything I could do!
