I just finished it. It’s perfect.

Paramount and Bad Robot announced they're going to do a live-action adaption of Your Name.
I haven't seen it, but it hasn't even been out that long. I'm already skeptical about this.

^ The cynic in me says they're doing it partly because transgender issues are so hot right now in American politics. Body swapping and body morphing are fairly common in Japanese pop culture, not so much in American pop culture, so I suspect that will become the focus and as such will be handled poorly. Finding your soulmate across space and time, which is the real point of Your Name. (and most of the rest of director Makoto Shinkai's work)? Nah. The Lake House ruined that for us.

I watched the first two episodes of Star Trek Discovery.
Much like when I watched the first J.J.Abrams Star Trek, I have no desire to watch any more.

It's mediocre sci-fi and a terrible 'Star Trek' show.

^ I enjoyed it, at least enough to want to watch again. But I REALLY like Sonequa Martin Green. Still, it reminds me a bit of the "updated" versions of Morning Musume songs. All those extra funky beats AT BEST just add superfluous cruft to a song that demonstrably doesn't need it, and at worst ruin the core of what made the song great to begin with. Abramseque lens flares and crazy angles are the same. Trek doesn't need gimmicks like that to be entertaining, as evinced by The Orville.

I recently discovered that Disney X D has a late night programming block that is essentially YouTube on television, with a dash of G4tv. Content consists of let's plays on TV (one show is literally just videos from YouTube cut up for TV), e-sports, drone races, IGN, and sometimes geeky/video game docuseries.

It's weird. I mean it makes sense that they'd want to profit more from owning Maker Studios, but it's still weird swapping the channel and seeing jacksepticeye's face in the same place my dad watches his football.

Maker Studios have their own channels (e.g., Maker, Polaris+) on Sling TV. Or at least they used to, when I had that service. I don't know anymore.

If you want more weirdness of the same kind, check out Adult Swim's streams…

What if Game of Thrones were anime?

I just finished watching American Vandal on Netflix. It's pretty damn good, or really addictive, at least. It's a mockumentary about an investigation into a vandalism at a school, where dicks were spray-painted on the teachers' cars... which sounds pretty dumb but I thought it's a good show. I started watching it because two of my close friends were obsessed.
