Archie "got hot", the show is being equated to some weird semi-combination of "Twin Peaks" and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" in tone, and they're planning an episode that takes inspiration from "The Virgin Suicides".

Not really sure what to think about that.

I never understand who the demographic is supposed to be for those 2+ generations ago pop culture revivals that change everything about the original concept. Millennials don't care about "Archie" and older generations don't want to see their memories looted and spoiled.

They also relaunched the Archie Comics series itself, after seventysomething years (and 666 issues!) of the old, iconic look. Here's the new look…

So hip it hurts.

Urgh, give me back the Dan DeCarlo look.

I hope this experiment fails and they just keep on doing the goofy crossovers with the old-style characters.

I am currently trying to follow High School Star Musical. I never saw the American show High School Musical, but I do know that this anime shares some elements with that show, mostly characters not only breaking into song for no particular reason but breaking into music videos for no particular reason. The American TV show was supposed to be based on Romeo and Juliette, but the anime seems to have more in common with Gakuen Heaven because the show revolves around an ordinary boy who gets into a super elite performance academy and is placed on a team with three super elite boys and a shy somewhat ordinary boy. The teams must compete against each other and teams that finish in the bottom half will have the team members ineligible to become second year students.

There was an amusing juxtaposition of movie titles on a theater marquee in downtown Berkeley today: "STEVE JOBS THE LAST WITCH HUNTER". XD

Speaking of new movies, The Assassin opened here today: Hou Hsiao-Hsien's first martial arts film, starring babetastic Shu Qi in the title role. That spells out the words "must see" for me.

The Walking Dead

-Season 6, Episode 3 spoilers ahead-
Spoiler: show
Okay, even before I encountered the internet speculations, I had a feeling that Glenn isn't dead because if he had died there, no one else would know, and there would be too much boring ~where is Glenn~ quest that the others would have to go through.

...Although it'd also be dumb if he had survived that.
