LASIK is a simple laser treatment to fix your eyesight. No one has to get it, it's just an option if your vision has been stable for a few years and you no longer want to wear glasses/contact lenses. One of its side effects is dry eye, though, which may have had something to do with Kanon getting her eye infection.

ohh I also thought LASIK was if something was happening to your eyesight and you wanted to stop it from happening. (Like a cataract or something)

That makes more sense.
