Lol, I don't mind that much. She just happens to be my least fave H!P member currently. But that doesn't mean much since I love so many of them.

Also, hi haropurofan_txt! :flowers:

2007.01.28 - Hello! Project 2007 Winter ~Shuuketsu! 10th Anniversary~

The closer to present day I get, the more it becomes 're-watching', which is its own appeal.
You get to notice all those Eggs & Trainees who went on to debut and you didn't really pay attention to the first time you watched a concert.

So with H!P hitting its 20th anniversary I've just arrived at the 10th.

And you know the only person present that concerts in 2007 have in common with those in 2018?
Spoiler: show

As much as we may (on occasion) gripe and complain, it is gratifying to see that an idol company that has over its history completely replaced its entire talent base multiple times over is still going remarkably strong. Going through that much H!P history also puts a lot of things in perspective.

If they do bring back Hello!Morning, then I think they should have two competing "mini" groups on it: Mini Moni'18 (Ayumi, Chisato, YoReina, and Sakura) as the protagonist group and Mini-Devils (Takauchi, Miyamoto, Yanagawa, and Funaki) as an antagonist group. They could have inside jokes since Akari and Karin "are" mini-moni and that Kago and Tsugi were devils backstage. They could also have Karin use her poison tongue, have Akari play gang boss, Musubu overreact to things, and Nanami play the reluctant villain.

Searching around for FUJIWARA stuff after boinsie's post in the 6th Station thread led me to this. I'd never seen this side of Morning Musume before today.

Stumbled upon this post about the King Blade X10 (which is up to version III these days).
Was a bit in there about Morning Musume:

15+ colours installed as standard are enough for supporting most J-idol groups. The original blade had 12. Red, several blues, yellow, white, pink, a lighter pink, purple, orange, green, and one that could be turquoise or green but nobody knows for sure. If you need more shades than that, several newer models can be customised with ‘infinite’ colours.

The custom system’s great if you follow an idol group with a lot of girls. Once they run out of standard colours, they start getting creative. How else would you end up with image colours like ‘Golden Yellow’?

Yes, that one’s real – claimed by Yokoyama Reina from Morning Musume. And we had to double check that, because we thought it was Mustard instead. Somehow, it’s subtly different to groupmate Iikubo Haruna’s ‘Honey’ colour, probably a bit darker. Put them side by side and we can’t really tell, but hardcore fans will know at a glance.

Good reminder I need to get a new penlight. Mine has the standard 12 (I actually think mine might only have 10 actually) colors and it's not enough anymore XD

H!P in general has too many '98/'99 members.

By fiscal year (so don't attack me about it)
1998: Katsuta, Murota, Ogata R., Yamagishi, Miyamoto, Uemura, Ogata H., Ichioka, Oda, Takase
1999: Sato, Kawamura, Hirose, Nonaka, Niinuma, Kamikokuryo, Tanimura, Kaga, Nomura, Morito, Kishimoto

The names underline are the ones that already reached the 5 year minimum.

In a way, there is much less restrictions by having older members. Miki is almost out of High School, which might have been one of the factors to her getting this NBA gig.

Creeping age seems to be an issue affecting the jpop industry overall, not just H!P. Last year's "Senbatsu Election" didn't have any winners born after 1999. Current japanese charts are dominated by the Kpop TWICE whose youngest member was born in 1999. The E-girls lineup is from 1998 or older. Even Yui and Moa from "Baby"-metal are 1999'ers. Although most of their group is from the mid 1990's, The Hoopers, I guess, have one member born this century, so there's that. But I don't know, is there even a great demand for 14 or 15 year old idols these days? Plus, it used to be that when there was a new member, H!P made money going and coming, meaning, they made a ton from the old member graduating, and then made more money from the hype of the new member. That era is gone; H!P can hardly be bothered to recruit from outside anymore. Hardcore fans might genuinely be excited by a fresh face; but to Japan at large most of the current members are fairly unknown anyway so bringing in a new unknown girl isn't a big deal.

Good. Japan's obsession with thinking the only ages that matter are 24 and under are slowly coming to an end.

Next possible 'Ichioka Factory' announcement date I can see: February 24.

Why? --> H!P Winter 2018 Tour final and 1 day before her birthday.

Would be fitting.
