They've done an admirable job of making some "Station" segments less fun. That rehearsal footage was 1% rehearsal and 99% scolding/off screen instruction. What was the point?

Yeah, the whole episode has more talk than actual content which is a shame. We also had little actual singing when they showed the recording footage of country girls' new song.

They've changed the channel's focus...it seems that they made hello project episodes for the die hard fans with the whole behind the scene angle, learning about kenshuusei etc. Upcoming is positioned as a channel for potential fans who might get interested with live performances.

I was watching some vintage Hello!Morning clips on YouTube and the entertainment value of those shows was so vastly superior compared to today's offerings, despite the comparatively poor visual quality. I think the entire reason I got into H!P at all as opposed to other random jpop groups was due to H!M regularly showcasing the natural charm and humor of the members in planned-out (semi-)scripted segments. We get glimpses of that with the concert MCs and on some of the fanclub DVDs but it's not the same as the weekly doses we received back in the day. I really miss that.

I don't even mind the general makeover for the show, I miss the performances being on this channel but I do like some of the new segments (hair and makeup, Kenshuusei profiles, the music video review, and I love actual rehearsal footage). It just didn't make sense to me to include video of a "rehearsal" that is essentially void of rehearsing.

The theme of this episode is about the "Showa Kayo", pop music during the Showa era.
