Well, according to the H!P recording producers, that should not be surprising.

I see a lot of women in Harunan's audience. I wonder if she just has a lot of female wota? I do remember the only Japanese Harunan wota I met in New York was female (She gave me a Harunan pinup when she saw Harunan was my oshi =D).

It is announced that Aikawa Maho will take a break from activities with Angerme. During the H!P Winter concert on Jan. 2nd, there were times that her symptoms would appear during performances. She has been experiencing symptoms of dizziness and headaches and it has seemed to get stronger recently. She is further diagnosed with reoccurring panic disorder/attacks. She will need rest and treatment. Aikawa Maho was surprised by this but she says she wants to continue activities with Angerme. They told her that many have overcome this disorder before and she can do it too. In the future, they will take the doctor diagnosis and monitor her health and symptoms. They will let us know when she will return.

Aikawa Maho's statement : She says she would sometimes have difficulty breathing, and get nauseated. She get frequent seizures and sometimes it would happen on stage. Doctor told her to rest and take a break to get cured. She apologizes for worrying members, fans, and staff members.

Panic disorder o__o Wonder what it was that triggered it...
In her comment, she says that she realizes there might be a stigma towards it as it is an illness in the brain (=mental health) but that she hopes to overcome it and fight alongside people who are also dealing with this illness.

Wow.

I hope she'll be okay.

That's one thing I really worry about, some people (normally those lucky enough to have never suffered significantly) fail to take these things seriously. At it's worse this condition can literally cause seizures and leave you certain of your own imminent death, and it's very hard to get it under control once you've started the panic cycle. Some obvious things can trigger it, sometimes there may be an underlying anxiety level that just needs that one extra thing to tip the balance, other times it can come completely out of the blue when everything should be fine.
It can be managed and overcome with the right tools and support whether that allows her to come back or not is another thing, she needs to do what's right for her because her health is more important than anything we want as fans.
